Madison Cawthorn over alleged insider trading of Cryptocurrency and an alleged \u201cimproper\u201d sexual relationship with a member of his Congressional staff.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee released a <a href=\"https:\/\/ethics.house.gov\/press-releases\/statement-chairman-and-ranking-member-committee-ethics-regarding-representative-64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a>, saying they are looking to see if Cawthorn \u201cpromoted a cryptocurrency in which he may have had an undisclosed financial interest\u201d and if he \u201cengaged in an improper relationship with an individual employed on his congressional staff.\u201d The investigation comes less than one week after Cawthorn conceded defeat in his Republican primary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn accordance with House Rule XI, clause 3, and Committee Rules 10(a)(2) and 18, the Committee unanimously voted on May 11, 2022, to establish an Investigative Subcommittee. Pursuant to the Committee\u2019s action, the Investigative Subcommittee shall have jurisdiction to determine whether Representative Madison Cawthorn may have: improperly promoted a cryptocurrency in which he may have had an undisclosed financial interest, and engaged in an improper relationship with an individual employed on his congressional staff,\u201d the committee press release states. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/28\/madison-cawthorn-claims-government-leaders-invited-orgy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Madison Cawthorn Claims Government Leaders Invited Him To An Orgy)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Honorable Veronica Escobar will serve as Chair of the Investigative Subcommittee, and the Honorable Michael Guest will serve as the Ranking Member. This inquiry is a formality.
