In your view, is a recession in the United States inevitable?\u201d the reporter asked.<\/p>\n<p>Biden replied simply: \u201cNo.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The reporter followed up: \u201cWhy not?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>In response, Biden pointed toward gains in employment and a handful of large foreign projects in the United States \u2014 including a $17 billion Samsung <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/samsung-to-build-17-billion-chip-factory-in-texas-marking-largest-ever-foreign-investment-into-the-state\">semiconductor factory<\/a> in Texas and a $5.5 billion Hyundai <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hyundai-to-build-5-5-billion-electric-vehicle-plant-in-georgia-marking-the-states-largest-ever-economic-development-project\">electric vehicle plant<\/a> in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s the situation,\u201d Biden continued. \u201cAnd when it comes to the gas prices, we\u2019re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it\u2019s over, we\u2019ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, key White House officials have frequently called for American families to buy electric cars in reaction to rising gas prices. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, for instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/in-line-with-white-house-hopes-rising-gas-prices-lead-to-surge-in-electric-car-interest\">claimed<\/a> in November that Americans who buy electric vehicles \u201cnever have to worry about gas prices again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the press conference, Biden also pointed to his decisions to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-raid-on-critical-strategic-petroleum-reserve-leaves-lowest-level-in-35-years\">release millions of barrels<\/a> from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as successful in stopping gas prices from \u201cgetting even worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe price of gas at the pump is something that I told you \u2014 you heard me say before \u2014 it would be a matter of great discussion at my kitchen table when I was a kid growing up.
