The foundation has contributed $500,000 to World Central Kitchen and the Red Cross for humanitarian relief efforts for Ukraine, according to the company\u2019s March statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn its latest quarterly results released in early May, the company did not disclose the financial impact of the suspension of business operations. Former CEO Kevin Johnson had pledged to donate royalties from the Russian business to humanitarian causes,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/05\/23\/starbucks-will-exit-russia-after-15-years-closing-130-licensed-cafes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> CNBC.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes shortly after McDonald\u2019s announced its end of doing business in Russia after 32 years of operation in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The popular fast-food franchise said in a news release last week that Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine and other unpredictabilities are among the reasons for its departure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re exceptionally proud of the 62,000 employees who work in our restaurants, along with the hundreds of Russian suppliers who support our business, and our local franchisees.
