In the last couple of weeks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/baby-formula-shortage-more-children-hospitalized\/\">dozens of infants<\/a> around the country, some with acute medical needs, have been hospitalized due to the shortages. Dehydration, nutrition issues, and even adverse reactions to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/health\/2022\/05\/20\/homemade-baby-formula-putting-wisconsin-babies-hospital-shortage-recipes\/9863647002\/\">homemade formula<\/a> are plaguing babies whose parents can\u2019t find the specific powder required for their survival. <\/p>\n<p>Panic about a lack of baby formula began months ago as parents struggled to find the products. Thanks to government-mandated lockdowns, supply-chain interruptions abounded, and Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/food\/outbreaks-foodborne-illness\/fda-investigation-cronobacter-infections-powdered-infant-formula-february-2022#622f1cc391bf6\">Food and Drug Administration\u2019s shutdown<\/a> of one of the country\u2019s largest infant formula plants only made things worse. By the beginning of May, the national out-of-stock rate for formula was <a href=\"https:\/\/datasembly.com\/news\/out-of-stock-rate-in-april-2022-copy\/\">43 percent<\/a>. In some states such as Tennessee and Texas, that rate rose above <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/baby-formula-shortage-rationing-national-crisis\/#:~:text=In%20six%20U.S.%20states%2C%20more,%2C%20and%20Tennessee%20(54%25).\">50 percent<\/a> by mid-May. <\/p>\n<p>Parents across the nation panicked, but the White House stayed largely silent on the issue. When the Biden administration finally spoke up, they blamed the problem on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SmithInAmerica\/status\/1525172316380008448?s=20&#038;t=ykmBUta_-gJhKUCkItdHuQ\">retailers, stockers<\/a>, and alleged baby formula hoarders.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"SlKOAVBAJazo3mvU9IgsYHVyP21C67JU8GKbLqfCq5rLnHhy5FPhxktM1cTsenplc3gBdEE7XzRwSZdoNaTNr8Z\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Psaki on baby formula shortage: &#8220;What we are seeing which is an enormous problem is hoarding \u2026 &#038; people hoarding because they are trying to profit off of fearful parents.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qtxQtnk4ng\">pic.twitter.com\/qtxQtnk4ng<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TPostMillennial\/status\/1524841488085045249?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 12, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Instead of making it easier for parents to get their hands on formula from overseas, Biden\u2019s team advised parents via the White House\u2019s Instagram page to \u201cuse a different brand of formula\u201d and \u201ccall your OB\/GYN or pediatrician\u201d to request supplements. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Cdq3VBnuDLS\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>When people discovered that the Biden administration was using taxpayer dollars to buy and ship formula to illegal immigrants detained at the southern border while stonewalling the needy Americans he was elected to serve, the corporate media, White House, and Department of Homeland Security deflected. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no indication the national baby formula shortage is connected to the distribution of formula to migrant babies in U.S. border custody,\u201d CBS News <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSNews\/status\/1526797228987232258\">tweeted<\/a> on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1002\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-18-at-10.52.56-AM-1024x1002-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-272666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-18-at-10.52.56-AM-1024x1002-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-18-at-10.52.56-AM-300x294-1.png 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-18-at-10.52.56-AM-768x751-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-18-at-10.52.56-AM.png 1204w\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Biden administration eventually tried to soothe Americans\u2019 formula panic by invoking the Defense Production Act, striking a reopening deal with the formula plant that had been shut down and flying in the product from Europe. But not even Biden\u2019s import of 70,000 pounds of infant food \u2014 as opposed to the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SteveKrak\/status\/1528380263197294594?s=20&#038;t=ykmBUta_-gJhKUCkItdHuQ\">70,000 tons<\/a>\u201d he claimed on Twitter \u2014 could distract from the fact that this FDA-exacerbated catastrophe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/05\/12\/baby-formula-shortage-prices\">isn\u2019t going away anytime soon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The White House <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSNews\/status\/1528492151776153602?s=20&#038;t=ykmBUta_-gJhKUCkItdHuQ\">keeps promising<\/a> that \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse\/status\/1528092296268460033?s=20&#038;t=ykmBUta_-gJhKUCkItdHuQ\">more infant formula is on the way<\/a>\u201d since the newest supply will only last a couple of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thejcoop\/status\/1528716488689041409?s=20&#038;t=ykmBUta_-gJhKUCkItdHuQ\">days<\/a>, but how can Americans trust that? After all, this is the same administration that <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/02\/debunking-bidens-sotu-border-baloney-line-by-line\/\">claims the southern border is secure<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/biden-says-inflation-temporary-fed-should-do-what-it-deems-necessary-recovery-2021-07-19\/\">inflation is temporary<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/biden-holding-meeting-supply-chain-issues-2021-12-22\/\">supply-chain crisis is over<\/a>, the Afghanistan withdrawal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LzLh2puvsQA\">was a success<\/a>, and exorbitant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/15\/bidens-claim-70-inflation-jump-was-due-putins-price-hike\/\">gas prices are Vladimir Putin\u2019s fault<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Since Biden assumed office, the United States has plunged into domestic, economic, and foreign policy crises. In every instance, the Biden administration has had the capacity to initiate solutions that will serve the American people well.
