The \u201cBad Guy\u201d composer said she was diagnosed with the disorder at 11 and it\u2019s been a constant challenge ever since, per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/billie-eilish-opens-up-about-exhausting-tourettes-syndrome-in-new-interview-3230733\"><span>NME<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhat\u2019s funny is so many people have it that you would never know,\u201d she said, explaining that she\u2019s aware of several other musical artists who also have Tourette Syndrome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Eilish told Letterman that she was happy to discuss the condition to help bring awareness. \u201cI really love answering questions about it, because it\u2019s very very interesting. And I am incredibly confused by it. I don\u2019t get it,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>She also mentioned how talking about her condition will hopefully help reduce other people\u2019s negative or unintentional insulting reactions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cThe most common way that people react is they laugh because they think I\u2019m trying to be funny \u2026 and I\u2019m always left incredibly offended by that,\u201d Eilish said during the interview.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Grammy Award-winning artist told Letterman how she had \u201csmall\u201d tics as a young child.\u00a0<\/span><span>\u201cFor me, they\u2019re very exhausting,\u201d she said, clarifying that she\u2019s since \u201cmade friends with it now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIf you film me for long enough, you\u2019re gonna see lots of tics,\u201d Eilish told Letterman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/tourette-syndrome\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20350465\"><span>Mayo Clinic<\/span><\/a><span>, Tourette syndrome is a \u201cdisorder that involves repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics) that can\u2019t be easily controlled,\u201d such as repeatedly blinking, shrugging, or blurting out unusual sounds or swear words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This isn\u2019t the first time Eilish spoke publicly about her personal life. In an interview with Howard Stern in December, she revealed her struggle with a porn addiction since the age of 11 and how it\u2019s negatively affected her, The Daily Wire <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/singer-billie-eilish-reveals-shes-struggled-with-porn-addiction-since-childhood-it-really-destroyed-my-brain\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAs a woman, I think porn is a disgrace, and I used to watch a lot of porn, to be honest,\u201d she told Stern. \u201cI started watching porn when I was like 11. I didn\u2019t understand why it was a bad thing.
