The information pertained to alleged links between the Trump Organization and Russia\u2019s Alfa Bank, with Sussmann and others with the Clinton campaign suggesting the links were nefarious.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI concluded the information did not support that suggestion.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time, in April, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/former-clinton-campaign-lawyer-made-false-statements-to-second-government-agency-durham_4408232.html\">it was revealed<\/a> that the CIA determined the information was not\u00a0\u201ctechnically plausible,\u201d did not \u201cwithstand technical scrutiny,\u201d \u201ccontained gaps,\u201d \u201cconflicted with [itself],\u201d and was \u201cuser created and not machine\/tool generated,\u201d according to special counsel John Durham\u2019s office, which is prosecuting Sussmann.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin P.\u2019s testimony, and that of retired CIA officer Mark Chadason, were the first time anybody from the CIA addressed the matter in public.<\/p>\n<p>According to a memorandum of the meeting that was filed by prosecutors before the trial started, Sussmann during the meeting \u201cadvised that he was not representing a particular client\u201d and that his law firm\u2019s work was \u201cunrelated to his reasons for contacting the CIA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an early version of the memo memorializing the latter meeting with Sussmann, the memo referred to him saying he had \u201cclients\u201d who wanted to remain anonymous. Kevin P. said he changed \u201cclients\u201d to \u201ccontacts\u201d because Sussmann did not refer to them as clients.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin P. also acknowledged that he did not ask Sussmann whether any of his contacts were clients.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4480603\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/05\/20\/cia-hq-1200x811.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4480603\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/05\/20\/cia-hq-1200x811.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"640\" height=\"433\" \/><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a> The CIA\u2019s headquarters in Langley, Va., in a file image. (Saul Loeb\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p>Sussmann\u2019s first meeting was with Chadason, a retired CIA officer. The meeting took place over breakfast at a northern Virginia hotel about two weeks before Sussmann met with the CIA officers.<\/p>\n<p>Chadason said\u00a0Gilman Louie, who ran the CIA\u2019s venture capital In-Q-Tel fund, asked him to meet Sussmann \u201cbecause he had information of importance to national security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chadason said that Sussmann told him that he was representing a client in relation to the information.<\/p>\n<p>Sussmann said he was representing \u201can engineer with a number of patents\u201d and \u201ca Republican,\u201d who \u201chad some allegations against President Trump that he wanted me to hear,\u201d Chadason testified.<\/p>\n<p>That matches <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/22026726-cia-memo\">a memo<\/a> of the conversation that states that \u201cSussmann said that he represents a CLIENT who does not want to be known, but who had some interesting information about the presence and activity of a unique Russian-made phone around President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sussmann appears to have been referring to Rodney Joffe, a technology executive who prosecutors say helped develop the information. Joffe has said he was promised a position in the government if Clinton won the election.<\/p>\n<p>Sussmann told Kevin P. that he went to the CIA because he was worried the FBI did not handle the material he handed over properly, musing that the bureau may lack the needed expertise to analyze it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid he say he was frustrated because no one was listening to him?\u201d\u00a0Sean Berkowitz, a lawyer representing Sussmann, asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, he was frustrated,\u201d Chadason said.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Hellman, an FBI expert who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/fbi-deemed-trump-russia-claims-false-in-less-than-a-day-agent-says_4472889.html\">testified earlier in the trial<\/a>, said it was evident within a day that the data Sussmann brought did not support the allegations against Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Chadason noted in an email to the CIA that they should \u201cremember that this guy is a partisan lawyer who works for the DNC,\u201d adding, \u201cI am not sure what the real story is but I am sure you guys will figure this out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy feeling was the information was interesting enough to pass to the CIA to be vetted and validated,\u201d Chadason said. \u201cI had no ability to assess the validity of the information \u2026 he seemed loyal \u2026 [and] seemed like a credible source.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"author_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"one_author_block round\">\n<div class=\"top_row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/author-john-haughey\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/WEB_JohnHaughley.jpg\" alt=\"John Haughey\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Follow<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>John Haughey has been a working journalist since 1978 with an extensive background in local government, state legislatures, and growth and development.
