In fact, the opposite has happened as Georgia has seen record breaking early turnout in the lead up to Tuesday\u2019s primary.<\/p>\n<p>On MSNBC\u2019s <em>Andrea Mitchell Reports <\/em>on Friday, guest host Garrett Haake observed, \u201cToday marks the last day of\u00a0what has been a record breaking period of early voting in Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later, correspondent Blayne Alexander gave\u00a0more context, \u201cLet\u2019s look at those numbers.\u00a0More than 655,000 people have\u00a0gone in person to cast a ballot.\u00a0That&#8217;s a record breaking number and every day in this three-week\u00a0period we have seen record breaking numbers.\u00a0In fact, they have far eclipsed the numbers from 2018 and\u00a02020 in some cases, more than about 150%.\u00a0Now, since what we saw &#8212; you\u00a0remember back in June of 2020, that\u00a0disastrous primary here in\u00a0Georgia.\u00a0Since then, we\u2019ve really seen the\u00a0message of early voting being repeatedly\u00a0pushed and certainly, these numbers show\u00a0people are listening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While it was good that the Haake and Alexander provided this news, they did not offer any apology or correction for all the lies that were spread about Georgia\u2019s law and as Georgia votes here are some reminders of what was said about the law.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/kyle-drennen\/2021\/04\/02\/nbc-cbs-georgia-companies-give-left-wing-demands-or-else\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexander<\/a> herself said of the push for corporate boycotts, \u201cCritics are giving these businesses until next week to fulfill a very specific set of demands. Now, of course all of this is in response to that controversial voting law\u00a0that imposes new ID requirements on absentee voting. But now,\u00a0critics say that the fight goes far beyond the state of Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At CBS, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/alex-christy\/2021\/04\/09\/so-funny-we-forgot-laugh-colbert-jokes-georgias-voting-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stephen Colbert<\/a> declared the law shows that Republicans would throw Jesus in jail while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/scott-whitlock\/2021\/03\/31\/cbs-repeatedly-lobbies-why-not-just-boycott-georgia-over-gop\">Gayle King<\/a> led the boycott movement.<\/p>\n<p>On CNN, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/alex-christy\/2021\/03\/27\/lying-lemon-spews-hate-georgia-law-gop-trying-silence-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Don Lemon<\/a> echoed Sen. Raphael Warnock in saying, \u201cthey are trying to silence us\u201d while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/kristine-marsh\/2021\/04\/12\/april-ryan-upset-about-election-security-cheating-gop-anti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">April Ryan\u00a0<\/a>dubbed the GOP the \u201canti-browning party\u201d and claimed \u201c&#8221;this is a party that&#8217;s cheating at the polls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And over at MSNBC, <em>Washington Post <\/em>associate editor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/brad-wilmouth\/2021\/04\/09\/lying-washpost-editor-ga-law-almost-verbatim-repeat-jim-crow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eugene Robinson<\/a> also got in on the Jim Crow comparisons, \u201cWell, I say it is, and, I mean, I\u00a0did grow up under Jim Crow laws. And Jim Crow laws, remember, never said black people couldn&#8217;t vote because that would have been clearly unconstitutional and illegal and out of bounds. What they were, were laws, on their face, applied to everyone but were designed and enforced to deny voting rights to African Americans. And, you know, if this not a complete and total verbatim repeat of that, it is certainly a very close rhyme.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/curtis-houck\/2021\/03\/25\/racist-joy-reid-white-gop-wants-end-democracy-torture-black-people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joy Reid<\/a> made allusions to Apartheid South Africa, \u201cThis is the end of democracy in America. This is the beginning of the South \u2014 the South Africa strategy. This is minority rule. This is saying we will rule over the objections of the majority of the American people. &#8230; It&#8217;s probably, kind of, in a way. It\u2019s old school American. It&#8217;s Jim Crow America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A bunch of predictions that were obviously false at the time ended up being false.
