The footage is not genuine.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian military has used drones to attack Russian targets on several occasions, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/may\/15\/war-enabling-not-war-winning-how-are-drones-affecting-the-ukraine-war\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Guardian<\/a>. Russian claims to have shot down nine Ukrainian TB2 drones, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/may\/15\/war-enabling-not-war-winning-how-are-drones-affecting-the-ukraine-war\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">outlet<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A viral Facebook video, viewed more than 200,000 times, allegedly shows footage of a combat drone attacking and destroying a Russian armored column. The seven-minute video shows black and white aerial footage of dozens of armored vehicles being destroyed by airstrikes. \u201cEntire Russian Column destroyed by fire \u2013 Combat drone in action,\u201d reads the video\u2019s caption.<\/p>\n<p>The footage is not genuine. A reverse image search found that the footage is from <a href=\"https:\/\/arma3.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARMA 3<\/a>, a military-style video game simulator created by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bohemia.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bohemia Interactive<\/a>. The video first appeared May 14 on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dIpwIB5i2EQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> where it was shared by user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/ARMAZONEE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARMA ZONE<\/a> with the title, \u201cEntire Russian Column destroyed by fire | Combat drone in action | ARMA 3: MILSIm.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>The YouTube video has a clear Disclaimer indicating that the video is a simulation. The same YouTube account has posted multiple videos of ARMA 3 gameplay, including videos of Russian and Ukrainian forces engaging targets. All of the videos on the channel feature a Disclaimer that indicates the footage comes from a video game. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/11\/fact-check-ukraine-destroys-russian-tanks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show Ukrainian Forces Destroying Eight Russian Tanks?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"ob-read-more-selector\">\n<div>\n<p>This is not the first time clips from the video game have been misidentified as real war footage.
