The company is also enacting a massive hiring freeze and reducing hiring targets in a strategy that will impact\u00a0\u201calmost every team across the company.\u201d This appears to be an extension of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2022\/05\/12\/tough-luck-zuck-facebook-tells-hardware-staffers-to-expect-cutbacks\/\">earlier warning<\/a> to the hardware division to \u201cexpect cutbacks.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_17597106\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2021\/08\/Mark-Zuckerberg-uncomfortably-wears-a-tux.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mark Zuckerberg uncomfortably wears a tux (Rich Fury \/Getty)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Due to\u00a0\u201cslower revenue growth than anticipated,\u201d Facebook is implementing a company-wide hiring freeze and doesn\u2019t intend to meet hiring goals set at the start of the year. According to the memo, the company\u2019s problems are due to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/07\/15\/report-apple-privacy-changes-cause-15-drop-in-revenue-for-advertisers\/\">Apple privacy changes<\/a>, the war in Ukraine, and the \u201cgeneral macroeconomic environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company is reportedly no longer hiring for certain engineering roles and is implementing a pause on the hiring of recruiters and low-level data scientists. Many employees have begun to fear that layoffs are coming soon, but CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in an internal all-hands meeting last week that job cuts are not being planned.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t sit here and make a permanent ongoing promise that as things shift that we won\u2019t have to reconsider that,\u201d Zuckerberg said. \u201cBut what I can tell you is that as of where we sit today, our expectation is not that we\u2019re going to have to do that.
