Wade.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Verdict: False<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This photo was first shared in 2018 and is unrelated to current events.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/read-justice-alito-initial-abortion-opinion-overturn-roe-v-wade-pdf-00029504\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Politico<\/a> recently reported on a leaked draft of a Supreme Court opinion that suggests the court intends to overturn its ruling in Roe v. Wade, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/05\/03\/1096097236\/roe-wade-original-ruling-leak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NPR<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/tile.loc.gov\/storage-services\/service\/ll\/usrep\/usrep410\/usrep410113\/usrep410113.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roe v. Wade<\/a> is a 1973 ruling that established federal protections for abortion during the first trimester of pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>An image shared on Facebook claims to show Clarence Thomas and his wife Ginni Thomas celebrating the reversal. It shows the pair smiling while Ginni Thomas holds a bottle of wine. \u201cAs American women despair about abortion rights being taken away from them, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife Ginni post a photo of themselves enjoying a $5,135 bottle of fancy wine,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kat.allen.58726\/posts\/514212997017306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post\u2019s caption claims<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The photo was not taken recently. A reverse image search revealed the photo was first shared on Instagram in 2018 by Crystal Clanton, a woman who once worked for Ginni Thomas, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/online\/exclusive-clarence-thomas-wife-hired-ex-tpusa-staffer-known-for-saying-i-hate-blacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mediaite<\/a>.
