She was 37, and her death came just a few days before her birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Schulenberg, best known for her roles on popular daytime soaps such as CBS\u2019s \u201cAs The World Turns\u201d and ABC\u2019s \u201cOne Life to Live,\u201d passed away in Bloomfield, New Jersey, her representative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/marnie-schulenburg-dead-as-the-world-turns-1235149801\/\">told<\/a> the Hollywood Reporter.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet noted that Schulenberg was diagnosed two years earlier, in May 2020, with stage four metastatic breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The Daytime Emmy-nominated actress has shared with her fans her journey from becoming a new mother in 2019 to fighting cancer.<\/p>\n<p>On Mother\u2019s Day, Marnie shared an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CdTWfXsOrMe\/\">emotional post<\/a> saying she was being sent home after being hospitalized, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tv\/as-the-world-turns-and-one-life-to-live-actress-marnie-schulenburg-dead-at-37\/?did=782043-20220519&#038;utm_campaign=people-news_newsletter&#038;utm_source=people.com&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_content=051922&#038;cid=782043&#038;mid=87613540479\">reported<\/a> People magazine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got released late Friday night but had to be sent home with an oxygen machine,\u201d Schulenberg wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s not my ideal to be a 38 year old Mom who needs an oxygen tank to survive right now. I want to be strong and beautiful for her. I want to show her how to move throughout this world with compassion, strength, vivacity, humor and joy like my Mother showed me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that me being here for her is the best gift I can give her but right now it feels like settling since she\u2019s getting a half-life version of myself,\u201d she added. \u201cMy mother showed up 100% all day everyday for me growing up or at least it seemed that way. I want to give Coda the same but I must be kind to myself and remember that nothing is permanent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo here\u2019s to remembering that nothing is permanent,\u201d the actress continued. \u201cTo soaking up the imperfections and that the best thing you can do for your child is make them feel loved, safe and supported just like my mother did for me.
