Debbie Lesko led the group of lawmakers on the Republican Study Committee (RSC) to push for the new legislation on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the Left continues to erase women, we must fight for women and their place in our society,\u201d Lesko said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/lesko.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=2717\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. \u201cWhether it\u2019s keeping the word \u2018mother\u2019 in written law, or ensuring women\u2019s domestic violence shelters do not have to accept biological men, we must stand up for women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bill is designed to push back on recent efforts by many Democrats to redefine gender or even recognize the unique differences between men and women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe modern Democrat party has put the Left\u2019s woke agenda before the rights of women,\u201d RSC Chairman Jim Banks (R-IN).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese days, Democrats refuse to even admit women exist or recognize them as unique beings, with unique abilities. While radical liberals strip away the progress and protections that generations of women fought to achieve, Republicans must fight back and acknowledge these basic biological truths. As the father of three daughters, I\u2019m proud to co-lead this resolution reaffirming the legal protections afforded to them under federal law,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Independent Women\u2019s Voice Vice President Carrie Lukas also shared her support for the bill in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen and girls\u2019 interests are being short-changed today by those who seek to eradicate sex-specific sports, facilities, and opportunities. That ends today. I\u2019m grateful that Representatives Lesko, Banks, Harshbarger, and Miller are standing up for women and for common sense,\u201d Lukas said.<\/p>\n<p>The bill acknowledges the biological differences between men and women and \u201chighlights the importance of differentiating between men and women in law for the purposes of protecting sex-segregated activities and organizations.\u201d The bill also affirms the importance of using \u201cmother\u201d and \u201cfather\u201d in written laws to protect families and parents.<\/p>\n<p>Lesko spoke out regarding the new bill at a press conference in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore and more often, our colleagues on the left are trying to erase women,\u201d the congresswoman said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today at the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepublicanStudy?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RepublicanStudy<\/a>\u2019s press conference, I spoke about the Women\u2019s Bill of Rights that I introduced to stand up for the rights of women and ensure our safety. As the Left continues to erase women, we must fight for women and their place in our society.
