According to a Quinnipiac <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3846\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poll<\/a> published Wednesday, just 26 percent of Hispanic respondents said they approved of the way Biden was handling his job as president, compared with 60 percent who said they disapproved.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s not very good, according to a <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> analysis of the poll results.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s net job approval rating among Hispanics (-34) was among the lowest of all the demographics measured in the Quinnipiac poll. Only white men (-36), voters without a college degree (-45), and Republicans (-89) had a more unfavorable view of the president&#8217;s job performance.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the most shocking result was the 69-point gap in Biden&#8217;s net job approval rating between Hispanic voters and black voters, the latter of which was the only demographic apart from Democrats to rate his job performance positively. Sixty-three percent of black voters said they approved of Biden&#8217;s job performance as president, compared with 28 percent who said they disapproved, for a net rating of +35 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The poll suggests that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2021\/01\/15\/understand-trumps-support-we-must-think-terms-multiracial-whiteness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denouncing<\/a> Hispanics as &#8220;white supremacists&#8221; for opposing Democratic policies might not be the most effective way to win their votes. Generally speaking, the Democratic Party&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/extinction-level-event-democrats-melt-down-accuse-each-other-of-racism-after-new-york-courts-upend-their-gerrymander\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obsession<\/a> with identity politics and racial grievance appears to have little salience among Hispanic voters. Asked what they considered &#8220;the most urgent issue facing the country today,&#8221; 36 percent of Hispanics said inflation, compared with just 4 percent who said &#8220;racial inequality&#8221; and 3 percent who cited immigration.<\/p>\n<p>This prioritization of economic issues over hysterical accusations of racism is bad news for Democrats heading into the midterm election cycle. Two-thirds of Hispanics said they disapproved of Biden&#8217;s handling of the economy, while just 27 percent gave him a positive rating. More than 80 percent of Hispanic voters said they would describe the state of the economy as &#8220;not so good&#8221; or &#8220;poor,&#8221; while a whopping 86 percent said they thought an economic recession was at least somewhat likely within the next year.<\/p>\n<p>Among registered Hispanic voters, Republicans had a 46 percent to 34 percent advantage over Democrats on the question of which party they would like to see win control of Congress if the elections were held today.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have responded to their flagging support among Hispanic voters by, for the most part, dropping the graduate school buzzword &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/white-liberals-latinx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Latinx<\/a>&#8221; from their lexicon and by launching a Latino Outreach program named after a communist <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/latinos-communism-castro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">propaganda slogan<\/a> popularized by Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most concerning signs for Democrats heading into the 2022 midterm elections is President Joe Biden&#8217;s abysmal approval rating among Hispanic voters.
