Rowling is an avowed leftist who has also become a fierce critic of transgender activism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The \u201cHarry Potter\u201d author recently shared an article on social media that discussed a girl who was run out of her private school for questioning trans teachings and suggesting that there were only two biological sexes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cUtterly shameful,\u201d Rowling <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jk_rowling\/status\/1526510094619377664\"><span>tweeted<\/span><\/a><span> this week in response to a U.K. Times article about the incident.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAdd this to the tottering pile of evidence that people in education and academia who\u2019re supposed to have a duty of care towards the young have succumbed to an outbreak of quasi-religious fanaticism. The girl\u2019s crime? Saying \u2018sex exists.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Utterly shameful. Rowling (@jk_rowling) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jk_rowling\/status\/1526510094619377664?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 17, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/girl-driven-out-of-school-for-questioning-trans-ideology-ls790krdh\"><span>The Times<\/span><\/a><span>, the 18-year-old student told the publication, \u201cThe language (the speaker) was using was implying critical theory took precedence over biological reality in defining women. When I questioned that, she said it wasn\u2019t an issue of semantics. She said trans people don\u2019t have basic human rights in this country. Afterwards, I spoke to her and said I\u2019m sorry if I came across as rude.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The report said that while some students voiced support of their peer initially, they later changed their mind and called her transphobic. The student left the school in September after being told she\u2019d be stuck working in the school\u2019s library if she shared any more controversial opinions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Rowling has been dubbed a \u201cTERF\u201d by leftists, which stands for \u201ctrans-exclusionary radical feminist.\u201d While she espouses most ideals set forth by Hollywood and the media, the best-selling author has been extremely critical of the push for trans acceptance across the board, especially the notion that none of the new rules can be questioned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In 2020, she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jk_rowling\/status\/1269389298664701952\"><span>tweeted<\/span><\/a><span>, \u201cIf sex isn\u2019t real, there\u2019s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn\u2019t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn\u2019t hate to speak the truth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A follow-up tweet continued, \u201cThe idea that women like me, who\u2019ve been empathetic to trans people for decades, feeling kinship because they\u2019re vulnerable in the same way as women \u2013 ie, to male violence \u2013 \u2018hate\u2019 trans people because they think sex is real and has lived consequences \u2013 is a nonsense.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Many of Rowling\u2019s peers, including the stars of the popular \u201cHarry Potter\u201d franchise, have distanced themselves from her and publicly denounced these types of statements.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Renowned author J.K.
