Mike Johnson\u2019s question of whether partial birth abortion should be legalized during a Wednesday House Judiciary Committee hearing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/06\/19\/mike-johnson-booed-reparations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Johnson<\/a> asked Dr. Yashica Robinson, a board member of the Physicians for Reproductive Health, at what point in the pregnancy should abortion be restricted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a medical doctor, I understand that every pregnancy is unique and different,\u201d she said. \u201cI also understand that patients need to have access to care. Pregnant people as the pregnancy progresses and that may be for various reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you support the right of a woman who is just seconds away from birthing a healthy child to have an abortion?\u201d Johnson interjected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that the question that you\u2019re asking does not realistically reflect abortion care \u2014\u201d Robinson began. Johnson cut her off repeating the question. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/12\/tom-cotton-xavier-becerra-partial-birth-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Cotton Slams Becerra For Trying To \u2018Ignore Partial Birth Abortion Ban: \u2018He Doesn\u2019t Get To Pick And Choose\u2019)\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI won\u2019t entertain theoreticals,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not a theoretical ma\u2019am,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cYou\u2019re a medical doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am a medical doctor and that has never happened,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The representative hit back saying though it had never happened in her personal practice, partial-birth abortions do occur across the U.S. He proceeded to ask if abortion should be allowed when the child is halfway delivered out of the birth canal. She told Johnson she \u201ccan\u2019t fathom that ever happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not asking if you can fathom it, if it occurred, would you support that abortion or not? That\u2019s unrestricted abortion, right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t answer that question, I can\u2019t even imagine that. Just like I\u2019m sure you can\u2019t imagine what you would do if your daughter was raped. If it hasn\u2019t happened, it may be difficult \u2014\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOkay, you\u2019re not going to answer this question, but how about this one, how does one qualify as fully human?\u201d he asked. \u201cWhat makes a human being?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat makes a human being is them being born, number one. That\u2019s why we have birthdays,\u201d she replied.<\/p>\n<p>Alaska, Colorado, District of Columbia, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon and New Jersey allow late-term abortions \u2014 abortions performed past 22-24 weeks \u2014 without any state thresholds, <a href=\"https:\/\/worldpopulationreview.com\/state-rankings\/what-states-allow-late-term-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the World Population Review. Several other states allow late-term abortion in cases threatening the mother\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>Congressional Democrats attempted to pass the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/11\/joe-manchin-republicans-block-womens-health-protection-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Women\u2019s Health Protection Act<\/a> that intended to eliminate restrictions on partial birth abortion. The legislation failed to pass after all 50 Senate Republicans, along with Democratic West Virginia Sen.
