The image has nothing to do with the current formula shortage.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. is currently in the midst of a baby formula shortage due to a series of recalls, shutdowns and supply chain issues, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2022\/may\/18\/baby-formula-shortage-why-is-there-none-what-to-do-causes-explained\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Guardian<\/a>. A reverse image search revealed the photo first appeared in a 2020 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/politics\/story\/2020-04-08\/coronavirus-federal-supplies-stockpile\"><span>Los Angeles Times<\/span><\/a><span> article titled, \u201c<\/span>Feds\u2019 stockpile for coronavirus response is exhausted, amid questions about how supplies were distributed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The image\u2019s caption explains the boxes are filled with medical supplies, not formula. \u201cL.A. County Fire Department lifeguard Danielle McMillon surveys a stockpile of surgical and protective masks in a secret government warehouse and destined for local hospitals,\u201d reads the caption.<\/p>\n<p><span>The same photo with the same caption was also included in an April 2020 article from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/news\/gallery\/2020\/apr\/07\/a-drive-in-cinema-and-a-field-test-tuesdays-best-photos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Guardian<\/a> showcasing the \u201cbest photographs of the day.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/17\/fact-check-baby-formula-tricare-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Will Tricare Provide Free Baby Formula And Ship It Directly To Anyone Who Applies?)<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some Republican lawmakers have criticized the Biden administration for its handling of the shortage and at least one has connected it to the situation at the southern border, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/baby-formula-shortage-border-facilities-alejandro-mayorkas\/\">CBS News<\/a>. Republican Florida Rep.
