There\u2019s way too much of America punching itself in the damn face, it\u2019s just dumb, and think about, hey, \u2018We gotta be competitive here.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>With $23 trillion in economic output last year, the United States presently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bea.gov\/news\/2022\/gross-domestic-product-fourth-quarter-and-year-2021-second-estimate#:~:text=Current%2Ddollar%20GDP%20increased%2010.1,(tables%201%20and%203).\"><span>boasts<\/span><\/a><span> the world\u2019s largest economy. However, China \u2014 which <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.china-briefing.com\/news\/chinas-2021-gdp-performance-a-look-at-major-provinces-and-cities\/\"><span>boasts<\/span><\/a><span> a $17.7 trillion economy and has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/country\/china\/overview#1\"><span>averaged<\/span><\/a><span> 10% annual GDP growth since 1978 \u2014 continues to expand its consumer sector and draw attention from businesses in the Western world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThere\u2019s a new kid on the block that\u2019s going to be two to three times our size,\u201d Musk warned. \u201cWe better step up our game and stop infighting.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Amid the rise of China, Musk urged American businesses to stand down from political controversies. \u201cThe point of a company is to produce useful products and services for your fellow human beings,\u201d Musk said. \u201cIt is not some political gathering place.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Indeed, Musk has formerly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-condemns-rising-woke-trend-in-corporate-america\"><span>condemned<\/span><\/a><span> American companies\u2019 efforts to make businesses more \u201csocially conscious\u201d \u2014 including Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), an investment and management philosophy that seeks to promote progressive causes in addition to maximizing shareholder returns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Earlier this year, when software entrepreneur Marc Andreessen criticized ESG funds\u2019 willingness to \u201cmake the weapons required to fight wars with hostile regimes we buy energy from\u201d and simultaneous refusal to invest in energy companies, Musk pointed out that \u201cESG rules have been twisted into insanity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Musk, an independent voter, also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-announces-hes-switching-to-vote-republican\"><span>revealed<\/span><\/a><span> that he will begin to branch out and support Republican candidates. \u201cI have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically,\u201d Musk acknowledged. \u201cLike I\u2019m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now this election I will.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The billionaire has also been highly critical of President Joe Biden.
