rocker Eric Clapton announced he\u2019s tested positive for COVID-19 after he got vaccinated against it, and now has to postpone his shows in Zurich and Milan.<\/p>\n<p>A lengthy message on the 77-year-old\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ericclapton\">Facebook page<\/a> Monday explained that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/eric-clapton-says-he-reserves-the-right-to-cancel-shows-at-venues-that-require-proof-of-vaccination\">Clapton<\/a> was \u201cunfortunately suffering from COVID having tested positive shortly after\u201d one of his concerts at the \u201cRoyal Albert Hall.\u201d He had previously taken the vaccine, though he claimed to have had severe complications, and later became a strong advocate against forcing people to get the shot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe [Clapton] has been told by his medical advisors that if he were to resume traveling and performing too soon, it could substantially delay his full recovery,\u201d the message read. \u201cEric is also anxious to avoid passing on any infection to any of his band, crew, promoters, their staff and of course the decided with great regret and apologies to all those concerned to postpone the performances in Zurich on 17th May and Milan on 18th May, the present hope being to be able to resume the tour starting with the concerts in Bologna on 20th and 21st May,\u201d the message added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very frustrating that having avoided COVID throughout lockdown and throughout the period when travel restrictions have been in place Eric should have succumbed to COVID at this point in time, but we very much hope he will be sufficiently recovered by the end of the week to be able to perform the remainder of the planned performances,\u201d the message continued. \u201cA further announcement will be made concerning the rescheduling of the postposed shows once suitable dates can be identified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The message concluded by sharing that more details would be coming soon and that the \u201cshows are due to be rescheduled within the next 6 months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Clapton said he suffered \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/05\/17\/eric-clapton-details-disastrous-covid-vaccine-effects\/\">severe reactions<\/a>\u00a0that lasted 10 days\u201d following his AstraZeneca shots and made headlines in December 2020 when he came out with an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-constitution-whats-it-worth-eric-clapton-van-morrison-release-anti-lockdown-song\">anti-lockdown song<\/a> with Van Morrison.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you wanna\u2019 be a free man or do you wanna be a slave?\u201d Clapton sings in the song titled \u201cStand and Deliver.\u201d \u201cDo you wanna\u2019 wear these chains until you\u2019re lying in the grave?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other lyrics include: \u201cMagna Carta, Bill of Rights\/ The Constitution, what\u2019s it worth?\/ You know they\u2019re gonna\u2019 grind us down, ah\/ Until it really hurts\/
