A program for compensation due to vaccine injury does exist but is not limited to the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=488436933036138&#038;set=a.103816781498157&#038;type=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">image<\/a>, which has been shared over 460 times, appears to show a poster created by the U.K. government featuring an elderly woman being consoled by a younger woman. \u201cHave you noticed your health declining since receiving the COVID-19 injection?\u201d reads text included in the post. \u201cIf you weren\u2019t made fully aware of the health risks from the COVID-19 vaccines, you are entitled to compensation of \u00a3120,000.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The poster is digitally fabricated. There is no mention of the program on the government\u2019s official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/search\/all?keywords=vaccine%20injection%20compensation&#038;order=relevance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> and the poster can not be found in the government\u2019s online <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirusresources.phe.gov.uk\/resources\/posters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">archive<\/a> of Coronavirus resource posters.<\/p>\n<p>A reverse image search revealed the photo in the poster appears on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.istockphoto.com\/photo\/caring-grownup-daughter-comforting-frustrated-unhappy-mature-woman-gm1280007253-378439957\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.istockphoto.com\/photo\/caring-grownup-daughter-comforting-frustrated-unhappy-mature-woman-gm1280007253-378439957&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1652813321601000&#038;usg=AOvVaw1gxPsQFABx_FzTGDzTXcgQ\">iStock<\/a>, a stock photo website. \u201cCaring grownup daughter comforting frustrated unhappy mature woman stock photo,\u201d reads the image\u2019s caption. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/01\/24\/fact-check-nhs-poster-covid-vaccine-bells-palsy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Image Show An NHS Poster Linking The COVID-19 Vaccine With Bell\u2019s Palsy?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The link featured on the poster leads to a U.K. government website titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/vaccine-damage-payment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vaccine Damage Payment<\/a>\u201d which offers one-time, \u00a3120,000 payments to those that became severely disabled due to vaccination \u201cagainst certain diseases.\u201d The Coronavirus vaccine is just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/vaccine-damage-payment\/eligibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">one of 19 vaccines<\/a> that people can claim they have been injured by to become eligible for the payment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not a government sanctioned poster or message,\u201d said a Department of Health and Social Care spokesperson in an email to Check Your Fact. \u201cThis kind of misinformation about the\u00a0<span class=\"il\">vaccine<\/span> causes harm and costs lives.
