A spokesperson for the U.S. Army\u2019s Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) denied the report.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Recent data Moderna submitted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suggested its COVID-19 vaccine provoked strong immune responses in children aged 6 to 11, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/05\/11\/health\/covid-moderna-vaccine-kids.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>. An image shared on Facebook now claims the U.S. military discovered pesticides in the vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>The image\u00a0shows what appears to be a screenshot of a news article with a headline that reads, \u201cMilitary Finds Pesticides in Moderna Covid-19 Vaccines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>The claim is incorrect. There are likewise no press releases from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.modernatx.com\/newsroom\/news-and-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moderna<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/fda-newsroom\/press-announcements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FDA<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/search.usa.gov\/search?query=Moderna&#038;affiliate=defensegov&#038;utf8=%26%23x2713%3B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Defense Department<\/a> about the alleged finding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely false,\u201d said Lori Salvatore, a spokesperson for the <a href=\"https:\/\/mrdc.amedd.army.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USAMRDC<\/a>, in an email to Check Your Fact. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/08\/20\/fact-check-military-times-headline-covid-vaccines-heart-disease\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did The Military Times Publish This Headline About COVID-19 Vaccines?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>An internet search revealed the <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2022\/05\/military-finds-pesticides-in-moderna-covid-19-vaccines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> originated from the satirical website <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2022\/05\/military-finds-pesticides-in-moderna-covid-19-vaccines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Real Raw News<\/a><\/span><span>, <\/span>which states on its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/about-us\/\">About Us<\/a>\u201d page that it publishes \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d The report claims that a Fort Detrick officer, Col. <a href=\"https:\/\/mrdc.amedd.army.mil\/index.cfm\/about\/leadership\/deputy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andrew C. Kim<\/a>, had conducted a chemical analysis on Moderna COVID-19 vaccine vials and found insecticides in them that could damage the nervous system of a recipient.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Moderna has been the target of false claims.
