Jim Banks sent a letter on Monday to Attorney General Merrick Garland urging him to prosecute abortion rights protesters who demonstrate at the homes of Supreme Court justices.<\/p>\n<p>Banks\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/574218605\/Garland-SCOTUS-Letter#download&#038;from_embed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> was first shared with Fox News after it had been sent to Garland.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"a\">\u201cYour supine response to this unprecedented and ongoing attack on the Supreme Court, and the apparently coordinated<\/span><span class=\"a\"> threats t<span class=\"l6\">o churches and to Americans who value life stands, in stark contrast to your aggressive action<\/span><\/span><span class=\"a\"> against parents protesting at school board meetings, and your disproportionately harsh treatment of the<\/span><span class=\"a\"> January 6 defendants for their alleged crimes of trespassing, obstruction, and parading or picketing,\u201d Banks wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The congressman also argued that a clear bias exists within the Biden administration regarding protesters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span class=\"a\">The evidence shows that under your leadership, the Department has one rule for the Biden\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">Administration\u2019s <\/span><span class=\"a\">friends, and a different, much harsher rule, for its opponents. While you had a great deal <\/span><span class=\"a\">to say about punishing parents for peacefully exercising their rights to protest the indoctrination to and harm<\/span><span class=\"a\"> of their children, and very publicly deployed the full weight of federal law enforcement against them,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">in the face of obvious crimes and violence by the Biden Administration\u2019s ideological allies and financial supporters<\/span><span class=\"a\">, you are effectively mute,\u201d Banks wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"a\">\u201cThis is a dangerous path,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Banks, a solid pro-life supporter in Congress, released a <a href=\"https:\/\/banks.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=2029\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> in favor of <em>Roe v. Wade\u00a0<\/em>being overturned following the Supreme Court leak earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am praying that the disastrous Roe decision is overturned. The Supreme Court will finally have given a voice to the voiceless and to Hoosier voters and for the first time in 50 years, regular Americans will have a say in the most important moral and political issue of our time,\u201d he shared in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am again calling on Indiana legislatures and Governor Holcomb to convene a special session to pass pro-life legislation if Roe is overturned,\u201d he added. \u201cThis could be the most important victory for protecting the unborn in American history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The recent protests at the homes of conservative justices in Virginia led Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin to request assistance from the Fairfax Police Department on Wednesday, calling for local law enforcement to \u201cestablish an expanded security perimeter\u201d around the private residences of Supreme Court justices.<\/p>\n<p>Youngkin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/573691148\/Office-of-the-Governor-May-11-2022-Glenn-Youngkin#download\">sent a letter<\/a>\u00a0to the Fairfax County Board confirming that the request was a response to the continued and credible threat posed by ongoing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/psaki-says-there-is-no-official-u-s-government-position-on-activists-protesting-outside-scotus-justices-homes\/\">planned demonstrations<\/a> outside the homes of sitting justices, The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/glenn-youngkin-calls-law-enforcement-to-create-security-perimeter-around-justices-homes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am writing to respectfully request that the Fairfax County Police Department establish an expanded security perimeter around the homes of the three current Supreme Court Justices who reside in Fairfax County,\u201d Younkgin\u2019s letter began.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis request is based on credible and specific information received about upcoming activities planned at or involving the homes of the Justices in Fairfax County. We believe for the safety of the Justices and their families, their neighbors, and the law enforcement heroes dedicated to preserving peace and order in our communities, that an expanded security perimeter should be established,\u201d Youngkin added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indiana Republican Rep.
