Bill Hagerty slammed President Joe Biden on Sunday for waging war on the economy and not putting Americans first.<\/p>\n<p>Hagerty shared the blistering remarks during an <a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/6306196376112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> on Fox News\u2019 \u201cSunday Morning Futures\u201d with Maria Bartiromo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll be a no on the package, Maria,\u201d Hagerty said about an additional $40 billion aid package under consideration for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got to look at our own national security first,\u201d he added. \u201cWe\u2019re not taking care of our own country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hagerty instead focused on Biden\u2019s own war against American industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best thing Biden administration could do is stop the war that he\u2019s waged on American industry. That would lower prices overall. That would take the funding away from Putin\u2019s war machine against Ukraine and make our economy better here. Biden will not do that, and he\u2019s taken us in a bad direction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Hagerty sympathized with Ukraine\u2019s situation despite his plan to vote against the latest effort, noting that many senators will vote in favor of the new package.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve already committed a great\u00a0deal of money, and I know people\u00a0are concerned that money is\u00a0being well spent, and we should\u00a0certainly take effort to oversee that carefully,\u201d he said. \u201cAt the same time, we\u2019ve got to\u00a0take care of things at home\u00a0first.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hagerty later concluded that Biden\u2019s lack of leadership in office has led to a number of failures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Biden has one failure after the other to point to. The failure of Afghanistan has precipitated global concern about America\u2019s posture. Our adversaries obviously emboldened. That stepped up Putin\u2019s activities in Ukraine, North Korea\u2019s back at it again. The world is in a more dangerous place thanks to Joe Biden, and what does he do? Blame Americans,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>The Tennessee senator also criticized the Biden administration during an interview on Fox News\u2019 \u201cThe Ingraham Angle\u201d this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Biden Administration is completely out of touch with Americans. They\u2019d rather wage war on Americans &#038; ignore our plight in our own country, yet rush to a cause that perhaps Joe Biden gets better ratings for,\u201d Hagerty tweeted alongside a link to the interview.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Biden Administration is completely out of touch with Americans. Rand Paul took to Twitter to express his concerns regarding support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy oath of office is to the U.S. Constitution, not to any foreign nation. Passing this bill brings the total we\u2019ve sent to Ukraine to nearly $54 billion over the course of two months,\u201d he added in a later post.<\/p>\n<p>Despite pushback from some Senate Republicans, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell believes the majority of his party\u2019s lawmakers will support the new Ukraine aid package.<\/p>\n<p>After a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday, McConnell told reporters, \u201cWhat I assured him \u2014 as this is an all-Republican delegation \u2014 is that support for Ukraine and this war against the Russians is bipartisan,\u201d McConnell\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-05-15\/mcconnell-sees-swift-ukraine-aid-passage-backs-nato-expansion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>, adding that the support includes \u201can overwhelming majority of Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tennessee Republican Sen.
