Some states with higher-than-average prices include California at $5.92 a gallon, and Hawaii at $5.32.<\/p>\n<p>Diesel also hit its own highest recorded cost at $5.56.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/energy\/biden-resuming-federal-drilling-wont-help-gas-prices-for-over-a-year-lipow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>BIDEN ENDING MORATORIUM ON FEDERAL DRILLING LEASES WON&#8217;T HELP GAS PRICES FOR \u2018OVER A YEAR\u2019: OIL EXPERT<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The national average retail price for a gallon of regular gasoline reached $4.40. The administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-administration-resumes-oil-and-gas-leases-on-federal-lands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>resumed<\/u><\/a> the new leasing last month following court challenges against the ban.
