Proctor died at the church where her family reportedly attempted an exorcism on her. The medical examiner ruled that she died of \u201casphyxia due to suffocation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>During the ceremony, Trigueros Hernandez along with Hernandez-Santos were allegedly holding Proctor down. Trigueros Hernandez later confessed that Proctor\u2019s death caused him a lot of pain, but he trusted what happened was \u201cthe will of God.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to court documents, Hernandez-Santos did not call 911 until up to two hours after her daughter\u2019s death, The Mercury News <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nordot.app\/896589170988793856?c=592622757532812385\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last week, Oscar Ayala, a preacher at the church who did not take part in the attempted exorcism, said the church members have a \u201cclean conscience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe know we haven\u2019t done anything dark, and we know that we have a clean conscience, that we haven\u2019t done any harm, that we haven\u2019t provoked the death of the girl,\u201d Ayala said. \u201cAs I say, precautions and actions weren\u2019t taken to deal with that case.
