That\u2019s the piece of information that we are very uncomfortable sharing, but understand that we\u2019re in a position that if we don\u2019t say it, someone else is going to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ashley Judd added that the Judd family had authorized her to speak candidly about her mother\u2019s death to raise awareness regarding mental health and its treatments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe obviously was suffering, and, as such, her days up until that moment were hurtful to her,\u201d she acknowledged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a mixed day,\u201d Ashley Judd <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10811041\/Naomi-Judd-shot-dead-upstairs-room-beloved-1-000-acre-Nashville-farmhouse.html\">recalled<\/a>. \u201cI was at the house visiting, as I am every day, and mom said to me \u2018will you stay with me?\u2019 and I said: \u2018Of course I will.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judd said she had exited the home to greet a family friend. \u00a0\u201cI went upstairs to let her know that the friend was there and I discovered her,\u201d Judd stated. \u201cI have both grief and trauma from discovering her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMom was a brilliant conversationalist,\u201d Judd said. \u201cShe was a star, an underrated songwriter, and she was someone who suffered from mental illness, who had trouble getting off the sofa. \u2026 But her brain hurt. It physically hurt. \u2026 When you\u2019re talking about mental illness, it\u2019s important to make the distinction between the loved one and the disease. My mother knew that she was seen and she was heard in her anguish and she was walked home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really accepted the love my mother was capable of giving me because I knew she was fragile,\u201d she said. \u201cI savored those moments and every time we\u00a0hugged and she drank me in, I was very present for those tactile experiences because I knew there would come a time when she would be gone, whether it was sooner or whether it was later, whether it was by the disease or another cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mother couldn\u2019t hang on until she was inducted into the Hall of Fame by her peers,\u201d Judd said sadly. \u201cThat is the level of catastrophe of what was going on inside of her, because the barrier between the regard in which they held her couldn\u2019t penetrate into her heart and the lie the disease told her was so convincing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Naomi Judd took Oprah Winfrey on a tour of her farm, where she had lived for roughly 30 years. \u00a0She pointed out how close her daughters lived to her, saying, \u201cAshley lives right up over that hill, right up the road. \u2026 And Miss Wynonna lives right over that hill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Calling her farm her \u201chaven\u201d and \u201csanctuary,\u201d she added that she called it \u201cPeaceful Valley the moment I laid eyes on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wynonna Judd stated at the Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony, \u201cI didn\u2019t prepare anything tonight because I knew Mom would probably talk the most. \u2026 I\u2019m gonna make this fast, because my heart\u2019s broken, and I feel so blessed. It\u2019s a very strange dynamic, to be this broken and this blessed\u2026.
