It does not show actual events from the conflict in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Ukraine received anti-tank weapons from multiple NATO countries, including the U.K. which sent thousands of Next Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapons (NLAW), according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/18\/us\/ukraine-antitank-missiles-russia.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>. U.S. intelligence is suggesting Russia may be \u201cpreparing for a long war\u201d in the Donbas region, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/05\/10\/briefing\/russia-ukraine-war-putin-us.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">outlet<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook video, which has been viewed more than 230,000 times, purportedly shows a Russian patrol boat being fired upon by Ukrainian forces armed with NLAWs. The first half of the video shows soldiers tracking the boat with the missile, while the second half shows artillery hitting armored vehicles.<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/11\/fact-check-ukraine-destroys-russian-tanks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show Ukrainian Forces Destroying Eight Russian Tanks?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The footage is not genuine. A keyword search found the footage comes from ARMA 3, a military-style video game published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bohemia.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bohemia Interactive<\/a>. The video first appeared May 11 on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=I8ic-XyaniQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> where it was shared by the user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC0E3fvHhP3WX0_Q-ZWKCA6A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARMA ZONE<\/a> with a title that includes the words \u201cMilsim ARMA 3,\u201d a clear Disclaimer indicating that the video is a simulation, not real. The Facebook video lacks such a Disclaimer.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>The second clip featured in the Facebook video is also from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vahtTTcHNM8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> video, uploaded May 10, by the same user titled, \u201cRussian armor was heavily shelled by the Drone guided artillery on the Eastern front | ARMA 3 Milsim.\u201d Likewise, this footage is also from ARMA 3.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>This is not the first time clips from ARMA 3 have been misidentified as real footage from the war in Ukraine. <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/11\/fact-check-ukraine-destroys-russian-tanks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Check Your Fact<\/a> recently debunked a viral video claiming to show Ukrainian forces destroying Russian armor in the Donbas region.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A video\u00a0shared on Facebook allegedly shows a Russian patrol boat being destroyed by a Ukrainian anti-tank missile.The footage is from a military-style video game.
