Trump, dozens of elected representatives, and millions of Americans questioned the results. They alleged fraud while claiming nefarious actors stole it from their reach. They even went so far as to encourage electoral college voters to throw the victory over to Trump.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that dozens of progressive pundits made it clear that doubting the election and voicing that disbelief was a menace to the foundation of our democracy.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the 2020 election, CNN\u2019s Brian Stelter argued in a column titled, \u201dThe threat to democracy we all should have seen coming,\u201d that comments made by Trump about potential election interference were damaging to democracy itself.<\/p>\n<p>If questioning the legitimacy of American institutions, doubting the accuracy of the vote, and spreading false claims is a threat to democracy, then Jean-Pierre\u2019s tweet history should preclude her from her new position.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Jerry Dunleavy of The Washington Examiner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/karine-jean-pierres-questionable-twitter-history\">reported<\/a> that in December 2016, Jean-Pierre <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/K_JeanPierre\/status\/810294911815847936\">tweeted<\/a>, \u201cStolen emails, stolen drone, stolen election \u2026 welcome to the world of #unpresidented Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<div data-qa=\"article-body\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Stolen emails, stolen drone, stolen election \u2026..welcome to the world of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/unpresidented?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#unpresidented<\/a> Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NI7vqPV6cu\">https:\/\/t.co\/NI7vqPV6cu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Karine Jean-Pierre (@K_JeanPierre) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/K_JeanPierre\/status\/810294911815847936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 18, 2016<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A baseless tweet about a stolen election? The Left doesn\u2019t tolerate that, at least they don\u2019t when it is Republicans making the claim.<\/p>\n<p>For example, after the 2020 election, Washington Post columnist Paul Waldman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2020\/11\/10\/republicans-have-declared-war-democracy-itself\/\">said<\/a> Republicans were \u201cspreading false claims about voter fraud, to convince their own base that the election is right now being stolen from Trump, its rightful winner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dunleavy then noted that \u201cIn May 2018, [Jean-Pierre] <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/K_JeanPierre\/status\/999451134426304512\">tweeted<\/a>, \u2018Boom\u2019 in response to Judy Woodruff of PBS News tweeting that Obama director of national intelligence James Clapper \u2018says he\u2019s personally concluded Russians not only influenced but DECIDED outcome of 2016 election.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Boom \ud83d\udc40 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DOY0u0YEtE\">https:\/\/t.co\/DOY0u0YEtE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Karine Jean-Pierre (@K_JeanPierre) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/K_JeanPierre\/status\/999451134426304512?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 24, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Clapper\u2019s statement didn\u2019t appear to be based on any sort of fact and came years after the election took place.<\/p>\n<p>Further, Dunleavy explained: \u201cJean-Pierre also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/K_JeanPierre\/status\/1144964912382451713\">tweeted<\/a>, \u2018Jimmy Carter for the win\u2019 in June 2019 when the former president said that if the matter were fully investigated, it \u2018would show that Trump didn\u2019t actually win the election in 2016. \u2026 He was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jimmy Cater for the win. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/w61BQMuhAx\">https:\/\/t.co\/w61BQMuhAx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Karine Jean-Pierre (@K_JeanPierre) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/K_JeanPierre\/status\/1144964912382451713?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 29, 2019<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Jean-Pierre also \u201cshared calls for the Electoral College to reject Trump\u2019s win,\u201d as Dunleavy reported, when she tweeted out a Think Progress <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20161204023257\/https:\/thinkprogress.org\/electoral-college-trump-top-lawyers-8a8b6e0ca916\">article<\/a> titled \u201cElectoral College must reject Trump unless he sells his business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All of those actions, and more covered by Dunleavy, would seem to meet the progressive belief that instilling doubt, even calling for an overthrow of the election, is tantamount to declaring war on American democracy itself.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, many will argue that Trump \u2014 as president of the United States \u2014 calling the election illegitimate is different than Jean-Pierre. But she isn\u2019t just some lowly staffer, she\u2019s now going to be the White House press secretary, representing the president. That\u2019s a prominent person who has made such claims<\/p>\n<p>Based on Leftist standards, she\u2019s a threat to democracy.
