Does it pay for costs related to a medically-induced gender transition for employees\u2019 dependents?\u00a0 Microsoft certainly appears to be in favor of having access to such services.<\/p>\n<p>The software company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/video-games\/2022\/05\/11\/roe-v-wade-abortion-bungie-microsoft-activision-blizzard\/?utm_campaign=wp_main&#038;utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_medium=social\">confirmed in a statement<\/a> to The Washington Post that it supports and will protect a woman\u2019s right to get an abortion, as well as \u201cgender-affirming care.\u201d Additionally, it will be extending company benefits to include covering travel expenses for employees who have to go out of state in order to legally receive both procedures for themselves or their dependents.<\/p>\n<p>For some reason, The Post was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/video-games\/2022\/05\/11\/roe-v-wade-abortion-bungie-microsoft-activision-blizzard\/?utm_campaign=wp_main&#038;utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_medium=social\">concerned<\/a> about the relative silence from the videogame industry regarding <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>. The outlet reached out to 20 companies to find out how these corporations truly feel about the topic. A spokesperson for Microsoft \u2014 the parent company of Xbox which publishes such games as Halo, Gears of War, and Microsoft Solitaire \u2014 affirmed to The Post their fealty to progressive ideology as it relates to gender and abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMicrosoft will continue to do everything we can under the law to protect our employees\u2019 rights and support employees and their enrolled dependents in accessing critical health care \u2014 which already includes services like abortion and gender-affirming care \u2014 regardless of where they live across the U.S.,\u201d Microsoft told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis support is being extended to include travel expense assistance for these and other medical services where access to care is limited in availability in an employee\u2019s home geographic region,\u201d the company added.<\/p>\n<p>Dependents could reasonably include the children of Microsoft employees. This means that Microsoft could potentially help to cover the cost of minors receiving abortions as well as sex-change operations.<\/p>\n<p>Gender-affirming care is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/watch-this-biden-official-defend-trans-sex-change-surgeries-for-kids\">phrase<\/a> used by activists and media to mask the more grisly sounding transgender top and bottom surgeries, including removing a biological women\u2019s breasts, removing a biological man\u2019s genitals, sculpting a fake penis on a biological woman, facial feminization or facial masculinization.<\/p>\n<p>Alabama, for instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/alabama-law-criminalizing-transgender-health-care-for-minors-goes-into-effect\">recently banned<\/a> such surgeries for children. Thus, under the statement given to The Post, if a Microsoft employee living in Alabama wanted to travel to a state that allowed such surgeries, their travel costs would be covered by the company.<\/p>\n<p>Some states allow minors to receive abortions with parental consent. In theory, if a Microsoft parent wanted to travel to obtain an abortion for their child, the company founded by Bill Gates would cover those costs as well.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is just the latest business to pledge to monetarily support employees\u2019 abortions in some capacity. Levi Strauss &#038; Co. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/levis-will-reimburse-some-employees-for-abortion-related-travel-expenses?%3Futm_source=twitter&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_campaign=dwtwitter\">stated<\/a> last Wednesday that \u201cbusiness leaders need to make their voices heard and act to protect the health and well-being of our employees.
