Instead, most women cite career ambitions, desire to continue education, or financial issues. More recent data from the Guttmacher Institute show that women are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/analysis-most-women-who-get-abortions-live-in-blue-states-cite-career-ambitions-have-already-given-birth\"><span>most likely<\/span><\/a><span> to have abortions in their twenties \u2014 the same demographic covered by the Generation Lab survey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The poll also asked men about any changes in their sexual conduct that may emerge from the end of abortion. Forty-five percent of men said they would take \u201cadditional precautions like using physical contraceptives more often if abortion were illegal,\u201d Axios reported, while 43% said \u201cthey would not change anything.\u201d Eleven percent indicated they \u201cwould be more likely to get a vasectomy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nearly half of the respondents said \u201cabortion should be legal in all cases,\u201d and only 8% said it \u201cshould be illegal in all cases,\u201d Axios reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, a plurality of respondents \u2014 46% \u2014 had a \u201cmostly unfavorable\u201d view of the Supreme Court, and 22% indicated a \u201cvery unfavorable\u201d view. Twenty-eight percent said they had a \u201cmostly favorable\u201d view, while 4% said they have a \u201cvery favorable\u201d view.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The poll was taken in the days after Politico <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-right-to-an-abortion-is-sacred-democratic-lawmakers-renew-calls-to-codify-roe\"><span>published<\/span><\/a><span> Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito\u2019s draft majority opinion overturning <\/span><i><span>Roe v. Wade<\/span><\/i><span> \u2014 the 1973 ruling that purported to find a right to privacy in the Fourteenth Amendment that permits abortion. Alito wrote in his opinion that \u201c<\/span><i><span>Roe<\/span><\/i><span> was egregiously wrong from the start\u201d and \u201cwe hold that <\/span><i><span>Roe <\/span><\/i><span>and <\/span><i><span>Casey <\/span><\/i><span>must be overruled.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In light of the Supreme Court\u2019s current leanings, Democratic members of Congress on Wednesday attempted to pass the Women\u2019s Health Protection Act, which would have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/democrat-bill-legalizing-abortion-through-all-nine-months-for-virtually-any-reason-fails-in-senate\"><span>legalized abortion<\/span><\/a><span> through all nine months of pregnancy. The measure failed in the Senate by a vote of 51 to 49, falling short of the 60 votes required to get past the filibuster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Notably, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) was the lone Democrat to vote <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/manchin-destroys-senate-abortion-bill-make-no-mistake-it-is-not-roe-v-wade-codification\"><span>against<\/span><\/a><span> the Women\u2019s Health Protection Act. \u201cThe bill we have today to vote on, the Women\u2019s Health Protection Act, and I respect people who support it \u2014 but make no mistake, it is not <\/span><i><span>Roe v. Wade<\/span><\/i><span> codification,\u201d Manchin told reporters. \u201cIt expands abortion. And with that, that\u2019s not where we are today. We should not be dividing this country further than we\u2019re already divided.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Conservative-leaning states are currently trying to enact new laws surrounding abortion.
