The plan includes making migrants ineligible for asylum if they\u2019ve already passed through a \u201csafe third country\u201d on their way to the U.S., completing construction of the southern border wall, and giving states the authority to enforce immigration laws, according to the letter. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/09\/trump-esper-cartels-drugs-border-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Trump Responds In Just Two Words To Claim He Wanted To Shoot Missiles At Mexican Cartels)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongress should be emboldened with the mandate to immediately legislate unflinchingly, ensuring that neither this nor any future administration is again able to weaponize loopholes in the immigration system\u2014and defiantly refuse to follow plain law\u2014to purposefully drive mass illegal immigration to the United States,\u201d the letter stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the 118th Congress opens with new majorities in both chambers, it will be in large part because Americans have rejected the Biden Administration\u2019s purposeful dismantling of our nation\u2019s borders and our immigration enforcement infrastructure,\u201d the letter stated.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">New Border Security Coalition Provides Congress With Roadmap to End Biden Border Crisis, Reduce Illegal Immigration <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XwGiUGyjWZ\">https:\/\/t.co\/XwGiUGyjWZ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Heritage Foundation (@Heritage) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Heritage\/status\/1524431398089674753?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 11, 2022<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Assuming Republicans take the majority in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/08\/opinion-ice-needs-more-officers-and-stronger-laws-to-deport-bidens-illegal-immigration-feere\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Congress<\/a>, the plan would provide a roadmap for their policy agenda, former acting Customs and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/05\/border-migrants-ngo-texas-title42\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Border<\/a> Protection (CBP) commissioner Mark Morgan said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/press\/new-border-security-coalition-provides-congress-roadmap-end-biden-border-crisis-reduce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor far too long, Republicans have talked about \u2018comprehensive immigration reform,\u2019 which translates to amnesty, or simply advocated throwing more money at the border to solve the latest crisis. Those days are over. Those policy prescriptions are a recipe for failure. If you want to truly secure the border through reducing illegal immigration, implement policies that work.
