Recent polling from The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/21846336-2022-04-28-trend-for-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington Post and ABC News<\/a> suggests that 72 percent of U.S. adults \u201coppose the United States taking direct military action against Russian forces.\u201d Even in the early days of the overseas conflict, only <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3839\">17 percent<\/a> of Americans were willing to \u201crisk a direct war between the U.S. and Russia\u201d to \u201cdo whatever it can to help Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Congress has yet to vote to officially authorize acts of war against Russia, but that hasn\u2019t stopped some of the most high-ranking officials in the U.S., from <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/04\/26\/the-biden-administration-is-openly-pursuing-a-policy-of-escalation-in-ukraine\/\">President Joe Biden<\/a> and sitting members of Congress to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/05\/06\/if-the-u-s-is-giving-ukraine-real-time-battlefield-intel-congress-needs-to-vote-on-it\/\">intelligence agencies<\/a> and even institutions such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/07\/corrupt-media-pollsters-are-using-dishonest-tactics-to-drag-america-into-war\/\">corporate media<\/a>, from promoting a clash in Eastern Europe. <\/p>\n<p>Just this week, sitting Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., admitted that the United States is in a proxy war with Russia.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of the day, we\u2019ve got to realize we\u2019re at war. And we\u2019re not just at war to support the Ukrainians. We\u2019re fundamentally at war, although, it\u2019s somewhat through proxy with Russia and it\u2019s important that we win,\u201d Moulton said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"RG\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe\u2019re not just at war to support the Ukrainians. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., claimed this week that \u201cwe can win this war on behalf of Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no off-ramp in this war. Somebody is going to win and somebody is going to lose, and I hope and pray and do everything in my power to make sure Ukraine wins,\u201d Graham said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"vEMDnAy1BSgpkQqWYetjwH8\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lindsey Graham declares, &#8220;let&#8217;s take out Putin&#8221; and says there is &#8220;no off-ramp in this war&#8221; \u2014 also continues to suggest a No Fly Zone. &#8220;We can win this war on behalf of Ukraine,&#8221; he adds.
