The report calls to mind Biden\u2019s failed promise to \u201cshut down\u201d the virus.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/05\/06\/politics\/white-house-covid-fall-wave\/index.html\">reported<\/a> that the \u201cBiden administration is issuing a new warning that the US could potentially see 100 million Covid-19 infections this fall and winter, as officials publicly stress the need for more funding from Congress to prepare the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe White House is sharing these estimates as officials renew their push to get Congress to approve additional funding to combat the virus and as the nation approaches a coronavirus death toll of 1 million,\u201d CNN\u2019s Kaitlan Collins added. \u201cOfficials have said the White House will commemorate the moment when the US surpasses 1 million deaths from Covid-19.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Mail also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/health\/article-10797591\/White-House-projects-100-MILLION-COVID-19-infections-fall-winter-2022.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailus\">reported<\/a> that Biden is seeking approval from Congress for more funding, upwards of $22.5 billion, \u201cto allow the federal government to continue to purchase tests, therapeutics and continue other virus surveillance and prevention measures into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, The Hill <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/news\/3482160-in-shift-democrats-de-link-ukraine-aid-from-covid-19-money\/\">reported<\/a> that Congressional Democrats decided to remove COVID-19 funding from support for Ukraine, in a move that appeared to be specific to speed up support for the Eastern European nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot afford delay in this vital war effort. Hence, I am prepared to accept that these two measures move separately, so that the Ukrainian aid bill can get to my desk right away,\u201d President Joe Biden said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Hill also <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/news\/3482160-in-shift-democrats-de-link-ukraine-aid-from-covid-19-money\/\">noted<\/a> that disagreements between the GOP and Democratic officials regarding the U.S. southern border and public health measures has also caused delays in securing support for the federal funding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenate Majority Leader\u00a0<span class=\"person-popover\" data-nid=\"6932\"><a class=\"person-popover__link\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/charles-schumer\/\">Charles Schumer<\/a><\/span> (D-N.Y.) and a group of Republicans had previously struck a deal for $10 billion in coronavirus assistance,\u201d The Hill noted. \u201cBut Republicans want to add language into the coronavirus bill that would prevent the administration from lifting Title 42, a Trump-era pandemic public health policy that allows for the rapid expulsion of migrants at the border and blocks them from seeking asylum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While it is unclear what specifically the requested COVID-19 money will be used for by the Biden administration, the report calls to mind that Biden had promised to \u201cshut down the virus\u201d during the 2020 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>After more than a year in office, with cases surging even with several vaccines, it has become apparent that Biden\u2019s plan to eliminate the virus was never an actual possibility. The Daily Wire\u2019s Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro has previously argued Biden\u2019s promise was a\u201dlie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernment does not have the power to end disease, as a general matter,\u201d Shapiro <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshallnewsmessenger.com\/opinion\/ben-shapiro-the-big-government-covid-19-lie\/article_24f36a40-63be-11ec-91e9-ef8147e356b9.html\">wrote<\/a> in December 2021. \u201cWhen it comes to a wildly transmissible coronavirus specifically, no government can end the virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden continues to suggest that the federal government can control it because \u201cthe big-government lie must be maintained.
