The Florida senator also accused Biden of lying about his \u201c11-point plan to rescue America,\u201d which GOP lawmakers have largely shunned. <\/p>\n<p>Scott, who was the governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019 and is a potential 2024 White House candidate if former President Donald Trump doesn&#8217;t run, hit back at Biden and Capitol Hill Democrats after weeks of criticism of the policy proposal. The document calls for, among other things, the reauthorization of all federal programs every five years, which critics say could jeopardize the existence of social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare. The plan also calls for all Americans, even with minimum income, to pay taxes, which Democrats contend is effectively a tax on the poor. <\/p>\n<p>Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, have largely kept their distance from the Scott plan. With Senate Republicans needing to net a single seat in the 50-50 Senate to gain the majority (the Democrats hold it because of Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217;s tiebreaking vote), it&#8217;s more politically expedient to focus on the Biden administration&#8217;s shortcomings, such as inflation and high gas prices. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/democratic-ad-targets-policy-plan-by-sen-scott-shunned-by-gop-leader-mcconnell\">DEMOCRATIC AD TARGETS POLICY PLAN BY SEN. SCOTT SHUNNED BY GOP LEADER MCCONNELL<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>To that end, Scott accused Biden of failing to take responsibility for the country\u2019s rising prices, going as far as arguing it warrants the president stepping down. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s simple. The most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign. He\u2019s the problem. Getting him out of office is a quick and easy solution. Let\u2019s be honest here. Joe Biden is unwell. He\u2019s unfit for office. He\u2019s incoherent, incapacitated and confused. He doesn\u2019t know where he is half the time. He\u2019s incapable of leading and he\u2019s incapable of carrying out his duties. Joe Biden can\u2019t do the job.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Florida senator noted the <i>Washington Post <\/i>debunked the charge that Senate Republicans wanted to raise taxes on nearly 75 million people, giving <u><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GlennKesslerWP\/status\/1523656783168180226?s=20&#038;t=MgMb0HW2Cuv7Hizw7XLiRA\">the claim<\/a><\/u> &#8220;Three Pinocchios (barely missing Four).&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden\u2019s speech today is the latest in a series of speeches and statements from the White House attacking Senator Scott with lies. Even the Washington Post fact-checker has <u><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GlennKesslerWP\/status\/1523656783168180226\">called out<\/a><\/u> the president for his lies,\u201d said Scott, a former healthcare executive who is one of the richest senators.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
