Montague (@RepMontague) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMontague\/status\/1519401307890753537?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/elon-musk-acknowledges-twitters-obviously-strong-left-wing-bias\/?utm_source=home-headline-stories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk Acknowledges Twitter\u2019s \u2018Obviously\u2019 Strong Left-Wing Bias<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Carr Slams Biden Board<\/h3>\n<p>Speaking to Maria Bartiromo about the \u2018Disinformation\u2019 board, Carr said, \u201cTo paraphrase Justice Scalia, \u2018sometimes the threats to our liberty come dressed up in sheep\u2019s clothing, but this wolf comes as a wolf.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is Orwellian, it\u2019s un-American, it\u2019s unconstitutional \u2013 the very best time to shut this down was before the DHS ever announced it, the second best time is right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Carr offered up an explanation as to why the Disinformation Governance Board appears to be part of a wider agenda: \u201cIf you look back just in February, DHS put out a terrorism bulletin that swept in \u2018free speech\u2019 as among the things that they considered a threat to the domestic homeland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And as for collusion with the government, Carr noted: \u201cYou have [White House press secretary] Jen Psaki from the White House podium saying they are\u00a0coordinating with Big Tech\u00a0to\u00a0take down posts, flagging posts\u00a0for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"subscribe\" class=\"email-signup inarticle\">\n<h4>Support Conservative Voices!<\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Sign up to receive the latest<\/strong> political news, insight, and commentary delivered directly to your inbox.<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p>He added, \u201cI think it\u2019s pretty clear that there is coordination happening and if there is, then that does potentially make these entities state actors, which means they\u2019re limited by the First Amendment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carr\u2019s statement was in reference to a statement that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/twitter-psaki-big-tech-unite-bans-misinformation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki made last July<\/a>, where she admitted that the government was telling social media companies what to censor:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation. We\u2019re working with doctors and medical experts\u2026who are popular with their audience with accurate information. So, we\u2019re helping get trusted content out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden is just a front man. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/rand-paul-offers-blistering-rebuke-of-bidens-disinformation-board-i-dont-trust-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">challenged Mayorkas as to just exactly what<\/a> kind of information the Board would be scrutinizing.<\/p>\n<p>Paul, who is a medical doctor, gave examples of statements he had made regarding COVID, asking,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve said a million times that cloth masks don\u2019t work. YouTube takes me down. They\u2019re a private company I can have that beef with him. What about you? You\u2019re going to look at that? I often say that natural immunity from having had the infection is equal to the vaccine or better. You\u2019re going to take that down?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul also asked if the Board would be censoring content such as the Steele Dossier. Mayorkas stated that, \u201cThat\u2019s not a question that I\u2019m equipped to answer.\u201d It was here that Paul finished off Mayorkas:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cDo you think the American people are so stupid they need you to tell them what the truth is? You can\u2019t even admit what the truth is with the Steele dossier. I don\u2019t trust the government to figure out what the truth is. Nor should anybody else.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Florida <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/ron-desantis-slams-bidens-ministry-of-truth-vows-to-fight-new-disinformation-board\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gov. Ron DeSantis also vowed that<\/a> a \u201cDisinformation Governance Board\u201d was unacceptable in the United States. He stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cYou cannot have a Ministry of Truth in this country. We\u2019re not going to let Biden get away with this one. So we will be fighting back. When you\u2019re not doing well, you have two options: You can try to do better. Or you can try to silence your critics. That\u2019s why I\u2019m glad that the Attorney Generals that you mentioned, last week have filed lawsuits to get to the bottom of this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/national\/hagerty-dhs-disinformation-board-likely-illegal\/article_8957c990-ce12-11ec-81b3-ab38b32c017c.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has gone one step further and said<\/a> that the creation of the Board itself is \u201clikely illegal.\u201d The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/fcc-commissioner-blasts-bidens-disinformation-board-as-orwellian-and-un-american\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pick to head up the Disinformation Board<\/a>, Nina Jankowicz, is also being highly scrutinized by critics of the Board.<\/p>\n<p>Jankowicz has a hyper-partisan history, including being a supporter of Hillary Clinton, applauding Christopher Steele for his expertise on disinformation, and claiming the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation.<\/p>\n<p>Of the appointment of Jankowicz to head up the Board, Carr added, \u201cThis type of board was always going to be a dumpster fire, but the particular director they chose to run it is just throwing more gas on it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden&#8217;s new Disinformation Governance Board chief fell for every false Russia tale about Trump in 2016 campaign: Alfa Bank, Carter Page, dossier.
