If you live in the Northeast corridor, you do.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YL5cYRrC7i\">pic.twitter.com\/YL5cYRrC7i<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Washington Free Beacon (@FreeBeacon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FreeBeacon\/status\/1524066281351168004?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 10, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Referencing the high cost that Americans are paying at the pump \u2014 and the fact that high demand is not helping to lower the prices any \u2014 one reporter asked why the Biden administration was not doing more to push people toward public transportation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have yet to ask Americans to consume less,\u201d the reporter noted, referencing the record high prices for both regular gasoline and diesel fuel. \u201cYou\u2019re a train guy.\u00a0Have you ever thought of your administration asking Americans to drive less and take public transport?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, if you ever raised a family like mine, you don\u2019t have to tell them,\u201d Biden replied. \u201cThey\u2019re doing everything in their power to figure out how not to have to show up at the gas pump. That\u2019s why \u2014 for example, one of the things that\u2019s going to help a lot, it\u2019s going to take time, is our infrastructure bill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe truth is, they don\u2019t have that many options in terms of transportation around the country right now,\u201d Biden continued. \u201cIf you live in the Northeast Corridor, you do, if you\u2019re driving back and forth between Baltimore, Washington, New York, etc. But you don\u2019t have many choices. You don\u2019t have a whole lot of choices with other aspects of transportation, in terms of local transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmazing that Joe Biden had to remind an ultra privileged reporter in the DC Acela Corridor that people exist outside the DC Acela Corridor,\u201d Daily Caller Editor-in-Chief Geoff Ingersoll <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GPIngersoll\/status\/1524101524078710786\">noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo Mondays ago the Northeast corridor went offline for the workday starting around 5am because a car hit a pole.
