Lindsey Graham and Connecticut Democratic Sen. The nations include Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast week the Ukrainian government took a vote urging the U.S. Congress to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. So we heard their plea and we\u2019re answering their request,\u201d Graham <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?520119-1\/senators-graham-blumenthal-news-conference-war-ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should be all-in in making sure that Putin is marginalized and his country is marginalized as long as his country is engaged in the matter that they are engaging in,\u201d he added during the press conference.<\/p>\n<p>Graham also spoke out against Putin in an interview on \u201cFox News Sunday\u201d to call for regime change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we back off prosecuting Putin as a war criminal, all the laws on the books become a joke. If we don\u2019t get this right, China will certainly invade Taiwan,\u201d the senator argued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no off ramp in this war. Somebody\u2019s going to win and somebody\u2019s going to lose,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/graham-pushes-label-russia-state-135543943.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Graham noted Monday on Twitter that he also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LindseyGrahamSC\/status\/1523660202758873089\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supports<\/a> Finland and Sweden joining NATO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNATO needs to get bigger, not smaller,\u201d the senator tweeted. \u201cIf Finland and Sweden join NATO and Europe breaks away from dependence on Russian oil and gas, and Putin is declared a war criminal, that would be the best outcome for the world writ large.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blumenthal, who serves as the bipartisan sponsor of the resolution, has also spoken out strongly against Russia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia\u2019s horrific inhumanity\u2014barbaric atrocities &#038; war crimes\u2014have richly earned its designation as a state sponsor of terrorism. I\u2019ll be leading this resolution with Senator Graham, applying stiffer sanctions &#038; making it a true pariah among nations,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenBlumenthal\/status\/1523332910073335808\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> on Twitter Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution comes as missiles continue to strike civilians in Ukraine more than 70 days after Russia\u2019s invasion launched on February 24.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-258 Component-p-0-2-249\">\u201cUkraine said Russian forces fired seven missiles Monday at Odesa, hitting a shopping center and a warehouse in the country\u2019s largest port. One person was killed and five wounded, the military said,\u201d the Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-ukraine-putin-business-nato-moscow-c8e00f7bbc4f24aa40d70a4ac2d97adb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImages overnight showed a burning building and debris \u2014 including a tennis shoe \u2014 in a heap of destruction in the city on the Black Sea. Mayor Gennady Trukhanov later visited the warehouse and said it \u2018had nothing in common with military infrastructure or military objects,&#8217;\u201d the report added.<\/p>\n<p>Graham\u2019s announcement also comes one day after Putin\u2019s Victory Day speech that many feared could escalate the war.
