The \u201cHotel Transylvania\u201d alum also told Page Six that she thinks \u201ctoxic exposure\u201d was a reason she had cancer and why so many Americans are at risk for the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAmericans are in a revolving door of toxic exposure, chronic illness and drug dependency,\u201d she explained. Drescher recommended Americans should \u201cbreak the shackles\u201d and \u201cstart really examining what is weakening our immune system, why our bodies are reacting in a way that\u2019s chronic illness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Her cancer experience led the actress to found the non-profit, Cancer Schmancer, in 2007. She said her \u201cpassion\u201d and \u201clife mission\u201d is \u201ctrying to have the American public, and the world for that matter, pivot from trying to fix and end symptoms, to pivot and ask ourselves, \u2018What are we doing in our lives that\u2019s making us so sick in the first place?\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Drescher expressed that she believed \u201cwe all have to get out of the chemical business\u201d and return to a time when ingredients came from \u201cyour grandma\u2019s garden.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cStrong smelling things, wrinkle-free fabrics, industrially farmed food, personal care items that are filled with chemicals,\u201d the veteran actress asserted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOur lifestyle is making us a very sick nation,\u201d Drescher <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sjchs.org\/smart-living-home\/summer-2016\/fran-drescher#:~:text=Drescher%20was%20diagnosed%20with%20a,the%20rest%20of%20my%20life.\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> during a speech at the 2016 SmartWomen Luncheon &#038; Expo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe need to dial it back to a time when it was cleaner and more natural. Our website is filled with information, videos, and resources about how to do this.
