Wade<\/em> means the justices will come for the\u201cLGBTQ+ community\u201d next.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo my friends in the LGBTQ+ community\u2014the Supreme Court is coming for us next. Due to the increase in calls for violence, security \u2014 including high-grade and unscalable fencing \u2014 has been erected around the besieged Supreme Court. The Senate also voted Monday on a bill to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/wireStory\/senate-passes-bill-boost-security-supreme-court-84604795\">increase protection<\/a> for Supreme Court justices and their families who have been threatened.<\/p>\n<p>Lightfoot is one of many Democrats to issue such threats. In 2020, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/04\/chuck-schumer-justices-kavanaugh-gorusch-you-will-pay-price\/\">personally threatened<\/a> Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh if they didn\u2019t issue opinions aligning with his views on abortion.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court has not signaled any desire to overturn <em>Obergefell v. Hodges<\/em> \u2014 and the <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> draft opinion specifically noted it and other key cases deal with fundamentally different issues than abortion \u2014 yet Lightfoot is not alone in her fearmongering about it. Since the <em>Dobbs<\/em> draft opinion was leaked, Lightfoot\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ashley_ehasz\/status\/1521537318590599182?s=20&#038;t=SfeqA2h9ynNj5WFpn9xSTQ\">Democrat allies<\/a> who feel threatened by the probable end of <em>Roe<\/em>, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AOC\/status\/1521308650429689857?s=20&#038;t=SfeqA2h9ynNj5WFpn9xSTQ\">Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>, the ladies on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thedailybeast\/status\/1521532948331339776?s=20&#038;t=SfeqA2h9ynNj5WFpn9xSTQ\">The View<\/a>,\u201d and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/gay-rights-same-sex-marriage-supreme-court-overturn-roe-v-wade-abortion-leak\">corporate media<\/a>, have not only lied about the court\u2019s intentions but have also called for <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/05\/03\/lets-burn-this-place-down-left-calls-for-violence-after-treasonous-scotus-abortion-leak\/\">action<\/a> against the justices, the physical Supreme Court, and the American political system as a whole. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"947\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-10-at-8.32.44-AM-947x1024-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-272253\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-10-at-8.32.44-AM-947x1024-1.png 947w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-10-at-8.32.44-AM-277x300-1.png 277w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-10-at-8.32.44-AM-768x831-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-10-at-8.32.44-AM.png 1200w\"><\/figure>\n<p>Even President Joe Biden hinted that the Supreme Court\u2019s <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision could threaten \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/05\/03\/1096135394\/supreme-court-abortion-leak-biden-reaction\">a whole range of rights<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to spreading blatant disinformation with the goal of undermining SCOTUS, Lightfoot also explicitly called for political violence against U.S. institutions, something she previously denounced. <\/p>\n<p>Lightfoot was one of the many Democrats who blamed former President Donald Trump for the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 202, and claimed he \u201cincited this violence\u201d with his words. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am in disbelief with what is unfolding in D.C. right now,\u201d Lightfoot <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chicagosmayor\/status\/1346927175379742720\">tweeted<\/a> at the time. \u201cPresident Trump and his enablers incited this violence. Shame on every elected official in Congress and elsewhere who fomented this anti-democratic insurrection by extremists. This is not democracy.
