Cheri Bustos, D-Ill., said lawmakers need to look at whether the country can afford to cancel student loan debt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don\u2019t think it can just be a blanket, \u2018we\u2019re going to wipe out all of the student loans,\u2019&#8221; she said. &#8220;I think there\u2019s all different kinds of levels of that we\u2019ve got to really dig deep on.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> don\u2019t think canceling student loan debt it is such a crazy idea.<\/p>\n<p>MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan cheered Biden&#8217;s plans, and encouraged him to &#8220;do it.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Canceling federal student debt could be a game changer ahead of the midterms. Activists energized, base enthused, young people turning out again. It was universities.&#8221; He said. &#8220;It was especially for-profit universities. And then number three, is it worth taking a look at those who are in the higher earning jobs?&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During his presidential campaign, Biden supported erasing $10,000 in student debt for most borrowers, but has raised questions about his legal authority to do so via executive order.
