Wade<\/a>, which established federal protections for abortion, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Politico<\/a>. If Roe v. Wade is overturned, other landmark decisions could face challenges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/05\/05\/1096732347\/roe-v-wade-implications-beyond-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NPR<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>A Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/1taysavfdb\/posts\/1038569063763230\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post<\/a>, which has been shared over 230 times, claims contraceptives are now being restricted in Missouri. \u201cThey just banned plan B\u2019s in Missouri,\u201d reads the post. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planbonestep.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Plan B<\/a>, also referred to as the \u201cmorning-after pill,\u201d is marketed as an \u201cemergency contraceptive\u201d that prevents pregnancy after unprotected sex, according to its website.<\/p>\n<p>There is no evidence to support this claim. There is no announcement of such a ban in any of the <a href=\"https:\/\/governor.mo.gov\/press-releases\/archive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/governor.mo.gov\/actions\/legislative-actions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">legislative actions<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/governor.mo.gov\/actions\/executive-orders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">executive orders<\/a> found on Missouri Gov. Michael Parson\u2019s website. No such action is mentioned on the state legislature\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/house.mo.gov\/LegislationSP.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">House Actions<\/a>\u201d webpage or on the state senate\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.mo.gov\/22info\/BTS_Web\/BillList.aspx?SessionType=R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2018\/09\/10\/fact-check-kavanaugh-abortion-inducing-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Kavanaugh Suggest That Contraceptives Are \u2018Abortion-Inducing Drugs\u2019?)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Missouri has a \u201ctrigger law\u201d that would outlaw abortion in most cases if Roe v. Wade is overturned, according to an article published by <a href=\"https:\/\/news.stlpublicradio.org\/show\/st-louis-on-the-air\/2022-05-06\/missouris-trigger-law-is-ready-for-roes-demise-what-happens-then\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St. Louis Public Radio<\/a>. The outlet states \u201cBirth control, fertility treatments including IVF and emergency contraception including Plan B are not mentioned in the ban,\u201d but also notes the legal interpretation of the law could be expanded to include some emergency contraceptives in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The St. Louis branch of Planned Parenthood claimed on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPSLR\/status\/1522297782027145218\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> that the state\u2019s current trigger law would not ban Plan B. \u201c<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Overturning <\/span><span class=\"r-18u37iz\">#RoevWade<\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"> will take away abortion access but will not impact your ability to get birth control,\u201d the tweet reads. \u201cBirth control does not meet the criteria for the definition of abortion under MO law.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">(2\/3) Birth control does not meet the criteria for the definition of abortion under MO law.
