Their rights to make choices about their own bodies and their own health care are at risk. That\u2019s why people are protesting \u2014 they\u2019re unhappy, they\u2019re scared.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>She also attempted to justify the protests by saying, \u201cLook, I think the president\u2019s view is that there\u2019s a lot of passion, a lot of fear, a lot of sadness from many, many people across this country about what they saw in that leaked document.\u201d She added, \u201cWe obviously want people\u2019s privacy to be respected.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Over the weekend, throngs of protesters appeared outside the homes of Roberts and Kavanaugh<\/span><span>. There were also several acts of apparent pro-abortion vandalism, including possible arson. On Monday Psaki finally tweeted a comment from the president condemning violence and vandalism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\"><span>@POTUS<\/span><\/a> <span>strongly believes in the Constitutional right to protest,\u201d Psaki said. \u201cBut that should never include violence, threats, or vandalism. Judges perform an incredibly important function in our society, and they must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Psaki was ridiculed for the fact that that statement happened after the protesters showed up in front of the justices\u2019 homes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In response, conservatives slammed the president for failing to issue such a statement before the protests occurred.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cLol,\u201d Conservative commentator Liz Wheeler <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Liz_Wheeler\/status\/1523686566098456583?s=20&#038;t=Y9HkWEtZ9zk2NS6UclqdYA\">replied<\/a>. \u201cDid polling people hated [sic] when you shrugged off the angry protesters outside Kavanaugh\u2019s house &#038; refused to condemn that kind of intimidation? You didn\u2019t change your mind, you\u2019re just afraid when voters see your real opinions, they\u2019ll be disgusted.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhy didn\u2019t you say this BEFORE the protests happened?\u201d Abigail Marone, a press secretary for Josh Hawley <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/abigailmarone\/status\/1523650150828179456?s=20&#038;t=bEFzt62zmccsbKYNh6081w\">tweeted<\/a> in response. \u201cYou were asked last week about these exact protests and you refused to condemn it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cDays late Jen Psaki finally had a \u2018position\u2019 to share from the President in aftermath of the fire bombing of a pro-life office,\u201d law professor Jonathan Turley <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JonathanTurley\/status\/1523741306056765440?s=20&#038;t=Y9HkWEtZ9zk2NS6UclqdYA\">noted<\/a>. \u201cIt is long delayed and short on specifics, including any reference to leaking or doxing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><span>The Daily Wire also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/white-house-condemns-violence-threats-or-vandalism-amid-protests-at-homes-of-supreme-court-justices-and-pro-life-centers\">reported<\/a> that in Wisconsin, vandals set fire to a pro-life clinic in Madison,<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlexanderShur\/status\/1523320097993076737\"><span>scrawling on the clinic wall<\/span><\/a><span>: \u201cIf abortions aren\u2019t safe, then you aren\u2019t either,\u201d over the weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><span>During her press briefing on Monday, Psaki again refused to directly state whether or not the president condemned the protesters or the draft leaker.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWell I would say we have been clear, and the president\u2019s position has long been that we should not see protest that takes the form of violence, that takes the form of vandalism, and that threatens anyone,\u201d Psaki responded to a reporter who asked if Biden condemned either the protesters or the leaker. \u201cThat has long been his position for his entire career and continues to be his position.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WATCH: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PressSec?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@PressSec<\/a> again REFUSES to condemn the unprecedented Supreme Court draft opinion leak or the doxxing of justices \u2b07\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AGtbbGvZlt\">pic.twitter.com\/AGtbbGvZlt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chad Gilmartin (@ChadGilmartinCA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChadGilmartinCA\/status\/1523756433182887936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Psaki also said that the administration understands \u201cthe passion\u201d behind people who vandalize the Catholic Church\u2019s in support of abortion, while adding such behavior is unacceptable.
