Commentator Kathy Barnette follows closely behind at 23.2%, while former hedge fund CEO and Treasury Department official David McCormick comes in third at 21.6%. As the margin of error is 3%, the three candidates are virtually tied.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The poll \u2014 conducted between May 6 and May 8 \u2014 shows Barnette clinching the runner-up position from McCormick, who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrafalgargroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/TRF-PA-22-GOP-Sen-Primary-0415-Poll-Report.pdf\"><span>followed<\/span><\/a><span> Oz in Trafalgar\u2019s April poll. Barnette, however, has spent significantly less than Oz and McCormick, who have each shelled out $11 million for their campaigns, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/politics\/election\/pa-senate-race-poll-barnette-oz-mccormick-20220509.html\"><span>The Philadelphia Inquirer<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Barnette\u2019s surge in the polls immediately <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/watch-i-was-not-just-a-lump-of-cells-pa-senate-candidate-conceived-in-rape-accuses-dr-oz-of-flip-flopping-on-abortion\"><span>follows<\/span><\/a><span> the Republican primary debate on May 4, in which Barnette accused Oz of flip-flopping on his abortion stance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhether this was a leak or whether it was a tactical operation, we will soon figure out,\u201d Barnette said in reference to the Supreme Court\u2019s tentative <\/span><i><span>Roe v. Wade<\/span><\/i><span> decision, \u201cbut one thing is clear: I am so very grateful that our nation is now having a very important conversation and that is one of the most important conversations: that is about life. I am the byproduct of a rape. My mother was 11 years old when I was conceived; my father was 21.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was not just a lump of cells. As you can see I\u2019m still not just a lump of cells, my life has value,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Barnette then slammed Oz, claiming: \u201cAnd that is one of the reasons why it was so very disturbing when I saw Mehmet Oz running for this particular race when I\u2019ve seen him on numerous occasions \u2014 and specifically at the Breakfast Club \u2014 saying that my life was nothing more than an acorn with electrical currents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI am wondering if the good doctor has now since changed his position on that,\u201d she fired. \u201cMy life is valuable and so are the many lives that find themselves in the womb of their mother, whether in the womb or towards the end of that life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Given 30 seconds to respond, Oz cited his mother-in-law. \u201cYou know, one of the toughest endorsements you can ever get is from your mother-in-law,\u201d he replied. \u201cAnd my mother-in-law is an ordained minister. She wrote a lot of the pro-life literature in Montgomery County where we live and she certainly understands that I\u2019m pro-life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was a heart surgeon,\u201d he stated. \u201cI\u2019ve operated on small children, a few days old, and witnessed the majesty of their hearts pounding blood even though it\u2019s ill cause I\u2019m operating on those bodies.
