The Department of Justice later <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/10\/29\/report-fbi-actively-investigating-hunter-biden-and-his-associates-for-money-laundering\/\">confirmed<\/a> in October of 2020 that the tax crimes investigation was ongoing. In December of 2020, the Biden-Harris transition team <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BoKnowsNews\/status\/1336776677368754176?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1336776677368754176%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthefederalist.com%2F2020%2F12%2F09%2Ffederal-prosecutor-investigating-hunter-biden-for-potential-tax-crimes%2F\">announced<\/a> that the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office in Delaware\u00a0was officially looking into Hunter\u2019s tax affairs.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"976\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-09-at-10.44.16-AM-976x1024-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-272169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-09-at-10.44.16-AM-976x1024-1.png 976w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-09-at-10.44.16-AM-286x300-1.png 286w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-09-at-10.44.16-AM-768x806-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Screen-Shot-2022-05-09-at-10.44.16-AM.png 1186w\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Even before Morris\u2019s generous payment, Hunter took out a loan and <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/17\/hunter-biden-paid-off-tax-bill-in-2021-but-investigation-continued-report\/\">put $1 million<\/a> toward his looming tax debt. The combined payments could sway the jury\u2019s opinion of Hunter and hinder prosecutors\u2019 ability to fully punish the Biden son for tax evasion if he is convicted since he has paid at least some of his dues. <\/p>\n<p>The Post also suggested that Morris, who is known for providing legal representation for the creators of \u201cSouth Park,\u201d has been paying Hunter\u2019s rent and living expenses in California as well as advising his art sales.  <\/p>\n<p>In addition to involving himself in Hunter\u2019s financial woes and sustaining the 52-year-old\u2019s lavish lifestyle, Morris has pledged himself to shielding the star of the Biden family business from further political criticism. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/hunter-biden-hollywood-lawyer-kevin-morris-counsel-funding\/\">CBS News<\/a>, Morris recently devoted time and resources to investigating how Hunter\u2019s bombshell laptop, which exposed the Biden family\u2019s potentially criminal overseas business dealings, made it into the public eye. He is also planning a documentary that is designed to showcase Hunter\u2019s life \u201csince he has been the focus of conservative television commentators and investigated by congressional Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While it is unclear why Morris, who previously represented A-list actors such as Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, and Liam Hemsworth, has taken a vested interest in the president\u2019s son, Hunter\u2019s legal team has confirmed that Morris is Hunter\u2019s \u201cattorney and trusted adviser.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and co-producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
