Although this might not relate to job applications, the notable jump reflects curiosity about work opportunities at the business.<\/p>\n<p>The figures were posted after it was confirmed that Musk would serve as a temporary CEO of the social media outlet for a few months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, the above data is made more relevant by today\u2019s news. Say what you will about Elon, he does have a large fanbase of ppl excited to work for him. Managers in software must write great software or it\u2019s like being a cavalry captain who can\u2019t ride a horse!\u201d Musk stated.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, he is not too concerned about the current crop of Twitter personnel quitting.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters at the Met Gala on Monday, he purported that he is \u201cfine\u201d with a supposed mass resignation effort at the San Francisco-based tech firm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a free country,\u201d Musk said. \u201cCertainly if anyone doesn\u2019t feel comfortable with that, they will on their own accord go somewhere else. That\u2019s fine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, there is an appetite to work for the billionaire CEO. In 2021, Tesla Motors received nearly 3 million job applications. Moreover, the electric-vehicle maker recently announced that it created close to 100,000 direct new jobs in one decade \u201cand are planning to grow for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamblind.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blind<\/a>, an anonymous community app for the workplace, shows that tech workers are split on Musk\u2019s acquisition of Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome hate him and are loud about it,\u201d a Twitter engineer wrote. \u201cThe company has a strong woke culture and a lot are afraid to speak out against that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Elon\u2019s Twitter actually embraces free speech and open sources the algorithms, it would become the first social media company I would actually consider working for,\u201d a Microsoft employee stated on the website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMusk is known to not pay well. So company might do well but there will be exodus of engineers,\u201d an Amazon staff member said.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, a former Twitter employee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/twitter-lawyer-cried-with-employees-over-musk-buy-2022-4\">told<\/a>\u00a0Business Insider that \u201cany sense that an exodus is building is correct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Employees planning to quit have been mocked by some on social media.<\/p>\n<p>In April, when Musk\u2019s stake was revealed, Substack, an online publishing platform for writers, had a message for these individuals:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSubstack is hiring!\u201d\u00a0Lulu Cheng Meservey, vice president of communications at Substack, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lulumeservey\/status\/1511376638487019524?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">posted on Twitter<\/a>. \u201cIf you\u2019re a Twitter employee who\u2019s considering resigning because you\u2019re worried about Elon Musk pushing for less regulated speech \u2026 please do not come work here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last month, executives held a virtual all-hands meeting to discuss what Musk\u2019s acquisition will mean for Twitter and its policies.<\/p>\n<p>Vijaya Gadde, Twitter\u2019s head of legal, policy, and trust, also met virtually with employees she supervises in the legal and policy departments to talk about the purchase. Twitter\u2019s top lawyer reportedly explained that there are plenty of uncertainties as to what the tech giant would look like under Musk.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has been open about his plans for Twitter to embrace free speech, championing many different proposals, such as open-sourcing its algorithm, eradicating spam bots, and loosening content moderation policies. He suggested that Twitter should only remove content if it is mandated by local laws, adding that users should not be permanently banned from the platform.
