The bill is expected to save state citizens approximately $1.1 billion on purchases, including diapers, clothing, gas and more. The governor blamed the inflation on President Biden&#8217;s administration, boasting that new tax breaks would be the latest step in combating the increased costs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think we\u2019ve done more than any other state to step up against the Biden-flation headwinds to give relief to our citizens,&#8221; DeSantis <a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/522538-lawmakers-send-gov-desantis-gas-tax-relief-tool-time-holiday-in-sweeping-tax-package\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/640\/320\/GettyImages-1240289796.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"Florida Gov. Breaks include a back-to-school sales tax holiday from July 25 to Aug. 7, when school supplies and children&#8217;s clothing will be marked tax-free. DeSantis signed into law, nine sales tax holidays or temporary exemptions and a motor fuel tax exemption,&#8221; Florida&#8217;s Department of Revenue announced in <a href=\"https:\/\/floridarevenue.com\/Documents\/Printable%20calendar.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a calendar<\/a> for upcoming tax breaks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/foxnews.onelink.me\/xLDS?pid=AppArticleLink&#038;af_dp=foxnewsaf%3A%2F%2F&#038;af_web_dp=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fapps-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other tax holidays include: children&#8217;s books, disaster preparedness, freedom week, diapers and clothing, appliances, and home hardening.<\/p>\n<p>The tax breaks for baby and toddler clothes, diapers, and Energy Star appliances will last a full year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Home hardening, a tax break on home reinforcement and safety updates, will run a full two years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During this sales tax exemption period, tax is not due on the retail sales of impact-resistant doors, impact-resistant garage doors, and impact-resistant windows for commercial or noncommercial use,&#8221; the Department of Revenue announced.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><i>Fox News&#8217; Micah Maidenberg and Alison Sider contributed to this report.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
