Wade after a dramatic fight between Disney and Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over the company\u2019s political activism.<\/p>\n<p>Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">leak<\/a> of a draft opinion indicating the Supreme Court is likely to overturn Roe v. Wade, Democrats are trying to ram through a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/05\/democrats-white-supremacy-gender-oppression-abortion-womens-health-protection-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bill<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/05\/democrats-legalize-third-trimester-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">legalizing<\/a> third trimester <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/06\/jen-psaki-joe-biden-abortion-white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">abortions<\/a>; however, corporations are largely staying out of the fray, following Disney\u2019s disastrous battle with Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis that ended with the company losing its special tax privileges.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Statement from The Walt Disney Company on signing of Florida legislation: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UVI7Ko3aKS\">pic.twitter.com\/UVI7Ko3aKS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Walt Disney Company (@WaltDisneyCo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WaltDisneyCo\/status\/1508494672817123330?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 28, 2022<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/amp\/2022\/05\/03\/supreme-court-leaked-roe-v-wade-draft-companies-keep-quiet.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNBC<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2022\/05\/03\/supreme-court-roe-v-wade-draft-decision-response-from-major-companies\/amp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fortune<\/a> contacted dozens of the largest corporations in the U.S., but few of them gave any comments about the landmark case.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-usa-abortion-walt-disney-exclusive\/disney-ceo-says-it-will-be-difficult-to-film-in-georgia-if-abortion-law-takes-effect-idUSKCN1T003X\">Disney<\/a> has not commented on the draft opinion, nor have <a href=\"https:\/\/news.aa.com\/news\/news-details\/2021\/American-Airlines-Statement-on-Texas-Voting-Legislation-CORP-OTH-04\/default.aspx\">American Airlines<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/10\/15\/walmart-trains-staff-in-critical-race-theory\/\">Walmart<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2021\/01\/responding-to-the-violence-in-washington-dc\/\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.microsoft.com\/blog\/2021\/04\/20\/microsoft-statement-on-derek-chauvin-verdict\/\">Microsoft<\/a>\u00a0or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/22\/voting-georgia-donations\/\">Comcast<\/a>, according to CNBC, though all of the companies have been outspoken on politics and social issues in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Zeno, a massive public relations firm that advises Coca-Cola, Hershey\u2019s, Salesforce, Netflix and Starbucks, advised its clients not to comment on the overturning of Roe, <a href=\"https:\/\/popular.info\/p\/pr-giant-advising-corporate-clients?s=w\">according<\/a> to Popular Information, citing a client memo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not take a stance you cannot reverse, especially when the decision is not final. This topic is a textbook \u201950\/50\u2032 issue.
