Wade<\/i> decision as a crime.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Samuel Alito <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-supreme-court-strikes-down-roe-v-wade-decision-in-draft-of-majority-opinion-report-says\">writes<\/a> in the draft, in which the court strikes down <i>Roe v. Wade, <\/i>that \u201c<i>Roe<\/i>\u00a0was egregiously wrong from the start\u201d and that \u201cwe hold that\u00a0<i>Roe<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>Casey<\/i>\u00a0must be overruled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The leak \u2014 which shocked the political and legal worlds with many noting the disastrous ramifications that it will have on trust within the Supreme Court \u2014 is apparently not viewed as criminal by the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdministration officials said the Justice Department\u2019s view, at this early stage, is that the leak did not constitute a federal crime,\u201d NBC News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/supreme-court\/supreme-court-proceed-roe-leak-probe-rcna27508\">reported<\/a>. \u201cAccordingly, neither the FBI nor other federal law enforcement organizations are involved in any investigation, the officials said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr, who served in the role during two Republican administrations and who was previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/in-the-1990s-joe-biden-said-william-barr-was-one-of-the-best-attorney-generals\/\">praised<\/a> by Biden as being \u201cone of the best\u201d he ever worked with, said this week that the leak could absolutely constitute a crime and that a special counsel may need to be appointed to get to the bottom of what happened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could be obstructing the administration of justice, the due process of justice,\u201d Barr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bill-barr-names-the-specific-crime-that-may-have-been-committed-in-leak-of-supreme-court-draft\">said<\/a>. \u201cObstruction means you\u2019re attempting to influence, you know, through some kind of wrongdoing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barr said that he did not think that it was a \u201cstretch\u201d to think that criminal charges could be filed in the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they should spare no effort to get to the bottom of what happened,\u201d Barr said. \u201cOnce you expose the Court to this kind of popular pressure and sort of potential mob psychology, it\u2019ll divert them from reaching a principled decision based on the merits.
