There is no record of Musk making the statement.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Musk has been the focus of considerable media attention since his successful $44 billion bid to purchase Twitter, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/05\/05\/elon-musk-expected-to-serve-as-temporary-twitter-ceo-after-deal-closes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNBC<\/a>. One image shared on Facebook claims the billionaire entrepreneur recently weighed in on the topic of student loans.<\/p>\n<p>The image shows what appears to be a tweet from Musk\u2019s verified Twitter account that reads, \u201cThe fact that an 18 year old can\u2019t take out a $10,000 business loan. But can take out a $100,000 student loan tells you everything you need to know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement is digitally fabricated. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=The%20fact%20that%20an%2018%20year%20old%20can%27t%20take%20out%20a%20%2410%2C000%20business%20loan%20(from%3Aelonmusk)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">None<\/a> of Musk\u2019s real tweets contain the statement nor do any <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220506012953\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">archived<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220428142348\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">versions<\/a> of his account show the tweet.
