A production assistant for the sculptor stated the statue was created to symbolize unity and resilience. Despite this, the sculpture has been interpreted as a tribute to slavery locally.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sylvia.mcintosh.12\/posts\/4781473448568757\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post<\/a> shows an underwater sculpture of people holding hands forming a circle. \u201cAt the ocean floor off the coast of Grenada stands the haunting underwater sculpture of 26 children holding hands,\u201d the post\u2019s caption claims. \u201cIt is a tribute to the nearly two million African slaves during the transatlantic slave trade that was (sic) either thrown into the sea or killed themselves by jumping ship for a number of different reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A reverse image search reveals the sculpture is part of the Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park located in Grenada. The image, along with information about the sculpture, can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.underwatersculpture.com\/projects\/molinere-underwater-sculpture-park\/?doing_wp_cron=1651784391.6920599937438964843750\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> of the garden\u2019s creator, British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor.
