maximise its great potential @Kingdom_KHC &#038; I look forward to roll our ~$1.9bn in the \u2018new\u2019 @Twitter and join you on this exciting journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prince Alwaleed had rejected Musk\u2019s proposal to purchase Twitter in mid-April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t believe that the proposed offer by @elonmusk ($54.20) comes close to the intrinsic value of @Twitter given its growth prospects,\u201d Prince Alwaleed tweeted at the time.\u00a0\u201cBeing one of the largest &#038; long-term shareholders of Twitter, @Kingdom_KHC &#038; I reject this offer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk responded to Prince Alwaleed\u2019s initial tweet by posing two questions to the Saudi royal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow much of Twitter does the Kingdom own, directly &#038; indirectly?\u201d Musk asked. \u201cWhat are the Kingdom\u2019s views on journalistic freedom of speech?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prince Alwaleed\u2019s tweet on Thursday was made in response to Musk\u2019s tweet from last month.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Great to connect with you my &#8220;new&#8221; maximise its great potential<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Kingdom_KHC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Kingdom_KHC<\/a> &#038; I look forward to roll our ~$1.9bn in the \u201cnew\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Twitter?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Twitter<\/a> and join you on this exciting journey<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0644\u064a\u062f \u0628\u0646 \u0637\u0644\u0627\u0644 (@Alwaleed_Talal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Alwaleed_Talal\/status\/1522171641761046528?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 5, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Musk\u2019s tweet from April was an apparent shot at the Kingdom after U.S. intelligence stated in a report last year that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman <a href=\"https:\/\/int.nyt.com\/data\/documenttools\/the-report-on-jamal-khashoggi-killing\/ddc9578e0994f690\/full.pdf\">approved<\/a>\u00a0the assassination of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.<\/p>\n<p>Musk called for an investigation earlier this week into far-left groups that are reportedly pressuring advertisers on Twitter to boycott the platform if Musk rolls back content moderation policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the nation\u2019s biggest brands including Coca-Cola (CCEP), Disney (DIS) and Kraft (KHC) are facing calls to boycott Twitter if the company\u2019s soon-to-be owner, billionaire Elon Musk, rolls back content moderation policies limiting hate speech and election misinformation,\u201d CNN\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/05\/03\/tech\/twitter-letter-content-policies\/index.html\">reported<\/a>. \u201cIn a letter sent to brands Tuesday ahead of the 2022 NewFronts digital advertising conference, more than two dozen civil society groups said marketers should secure commitments from Twitter to retain its most critical policies, including on civic integrity and hateful conduct, and threaten to withdraw funding if Twitter does not comply.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some of the far-Left groups that signed the letter include Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, GLAAD, Media Matters For America, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the Women\u2019s March.<\/p>\n<p>The letter stated in part:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>As top advertisers on Twitter, your brand risks association with a platform amplifying hate, extremism, health misinformation, and conspiracy theorists. Under Musk\u2019s management, Twitter risks becoming a cesspool of misinformation, with your brand attached, polluting our information ecosystem in a time where trust in institutions and news media is already at an all-time low. Your ad dollars can either fund Musk\u2019s vanity project or hold him to account. We call on you to demand Musk uphold these basic standards of community trust and safety, and to pull your advertising spending from Twitter if they are not.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWho funds these organizations that want to control your access to information?
